also - I wish our heirloom tomatoes would get with the program and ripen ;:;banghead

they're monstrous/healthy - just green (one is finally turning)

I heard of some folks picking tomatoes July 4. If so - what variety????

We started eating our sweetcorn yesterday, and the tomatoes are turning. All we need now is for the bacon to ripen, BLT season open soon.

Sweet corn is just starting to tassel. My sweet 100 are getting ripe, rest of maters are green yet.

Just peeled 4 cobs for supper, by the looks of it, it could of been picked 5 to 7 days later. Will let you know how it tasted here shortly.

if you want to ripen tomatoes take a shovel and push it down cutting the roots about 1/2 of the way around the plant, it tricks the plant into ripening all that are on it both large and small as its main job is to produce seed and the plant doesn't know what is going on so it will be shocked into ripening the tomatoes, the plant will regrow the roots and recover. I have done this a couple of times and it does work.
