Pigeon Hunting

Does anyone on here hunt pigeons and if so what do you use for decoys and calls for them or do you not really call them or use decoys and just sit in a A Frame and hope they come in?

My neighbor friend and I used to go out his Uncle's farm and shoot barn pigeons with 22's. His aunt would clean them and make us pigeon pie for supper. The pigeons were all grain fed (altho some of the grain had probably been processed by the cattle!) We thought pigeon pie was great. We were grade school age.

Thanks for the responses, gonna just try and shoot some barn pigeons and not waste time trying to hunt them with decoys

unless you need them for dog training then you sneak up and close the lid on the steel bin. then go inside with a fishing net and get the heck beat out of you and lungs filled with pigeon shit dust catching live pigeons.

I built a trap. Catching pigeons your way sounds more exciting.

Thats a pretty good way to make a little cash and it seems enjoyable to trap pigeons
