Got our birds, but put a lot of miles on my boots. Warm and windy can make for some tough hunting. The blisters on my heels atleast tell me it wasn't easy, lol.

Nine-month-old Chip thinks today was much better.

The best hunting is in December. It’s still fun to go out opening day though. Just because.
Yes when you can walk along outer edges of slough and pinch them with others best hunting pass shooting is what pheasants are made for!!

English Setter Chip is doing very well for ten months. Winged a bird and it ran into three tree rows. The dogs were on it but couldn't find it. Old Sport walked away. I stepped into some grass they hadn't noised into yet and it popped out running.

Chip didn't see it go. I pointed to the ground in the direction it ran, and he took off following his nose. He was way out in an alfalfa field then went on point. The rooster jumped up and the dog had to tackle it. A dog's Gravy Train.

On opening day he lost two birds because he didn't know how to track. He is figuring things out fast.

He held the bird but doesn't retrieve yet. We are working on that. He likes to retrieve a wing tied to a stick and string.

Guaranteed its not all "non". Enough idiots around here don't have a clue, Gotta get to that almighty bird or deer. And yes farmers will not be pleased, lot of harvesting to take place yet.

I put the biggest tires on my jacked up diesel I COULDN’T afford. Not only that but I invented a watering system that throws out gallons of water in front of me. That way I can tear up all the LOCALS roads ALL the time. Just so they feel special year round. 🍻🍻
Make sure you put MN plates on your badass pickup so they know who to get mad at.

5 guys, 5 MN pickups, all hunting together with zero dog kennels……….at Audubon today. Like WTF, ya all couldn’t just come in 1 or 2 pickups 🤷‍♂️. With all the private land getting tougher to access, the stuff that is open or public is getting pummeled. Hardly any traffic at Audubon or garrison last weekend, had zero issue running into other hunters. Today, it was jam packed, mostly blue platers………..
