Absolutely nuts tonight. Best I’ve ever seen!

Agree!
Heck they were still going wild this morning at 545 am! I'm sitting dark till dark pretty much all rifle season but I did manage to get my camera out on time-lapse when i got home. Can't wait to see what it captured last night, should be wild! That is if I didn't mess up the camera settings! Ha ha

SE ND.
We had them really good for a while last night as well. Took my old camera out and tinkered to see what it would do compared to my phone.
My wife's aunt in Creston Iowa had some really good pictures as well so that is surprising that far south

Serious question. When I grew up in Pembina County, ND there were lots of Northern lights but only the white lights. What has changed???
I thought I was the only one that thought this was strange. I'm 60 and all my life they were various shades of white or green. The last 10 to 15 years they are pink and red and nobody seems to question it.

Not sure if it's got anything to do w/the colors, but, what we're seeing is the result of some sort of "Solar Storm".

Also not sure if this matters or not, but, w/harvest going on there's a ton of "dust" in the air that makes sunrise/set lots more pink/red this time of year.

Or, it's the Aliens thing someone else mentioned above.

Had someone ask me if those brilliant colors meant the dragons had hatched. He was relieved when I reminded him that dragon's hatching is signified by a big comet, not what we've had the last few nights.....

Well the whitetails were rutting like crazy this morning finally! From 8-10 was frantic! It was nice after sitting dark till dark 5 days to finally see not one but three mature bucks chasing.
One was wide and heavy broadside cruising for does at 340 yds, I flipped the safety off the stw and yelled at him but he didn't even flinch let alone stop so I passed on the shot. Hopefully I'll see him again in the morning, took some video of him at 600 going away, he looked impressive. On an aurora note..my time lapse failed me. Damn battery pack issue..ugh! Tonight everything seems to be working so crossing my fingers! This is all I got early last night, really sucks because it would have been unbelievable after the skies cleared!

Oh and here was the guy I tried stopping this morning walking away.

That's some solid patience on your behalf. Lots of people would have went for the old Texas Heart Shot on that fella.

The Northern Lights were pretty darn good last night as I pulled out of Beulah around 8:30. By about 9:30, clouds moved in and shut down the show. But it was really pretty as the lights shown through and around the spotty clouds to start the evening.

A little redemption last night.;) They were pretty darn good Allen I agree!
Oh,bucks weren't rutting like yesterday morning today. But I did have a nice 135ish 4x4 put on quite the show chasing a doe all over in front of me for an hour. Even laid down 125 yds down below me catvhing his breath. If he can make it to 2027 he's in trouble!
