PFFFT!! Not even close. The Afghanistan war that lasted 20 years cost "officially" about 2800 us troopers and ended up doing nothing but arming the enemy with us weapons takes a higher spot. Detention pods are in no way being used for circulated cooling water. The purity requirements for liquid running over those boards are more stringent than municipal drinking water standards.

I was told this by a pipefitter that worked down there for two yrs. I trust what he said. I see other data centers have retention ponds.

Hate to burst some people's bubble here, but the county commissioners have to follow the law. Not wanting a data center near your home is not enough, it's kind of like not wanting people of other races or religions on your block. As long as they follow the law, there isn't much you can do to prevent it.

So, go to the meetings, express your displeasure with them coming in, but realize we live in a country of laws. I know being the Devil's advocate here is probably not welcome, but when you want to install that feedlot or other undesirable at your place, you will thank the laws for being on your side.

And yes, I've been on the same side as you all when it came to a combined gravel pit and asphalt plant some Dickinson company wanted to put on the neighbor's side of the fence a few years ago. It made my parent's place borderline unlivable. It's no longer in operation, but we showed up and complained about their getting a permit, the county only said to report violations (air quality from both dust and asphalt fumes). I believe it was actually the neighbor, who after seeing the problem himself refused to allow the company to occupy the site in subsequent years.

in regards to Oliver county they had to change the zoning from I believe Ag to Industrial. They could have postponed their approval until a impact study was completed for the proposed data center.

The no NDA's would be a good start but if there is some kind of secret compensation being given to the elected officials to grease the skids they get the same results as a NDA. An elected official that signs an NDA about official city or state business, I don't get how thats even legal.
