Am I ignorant to think that a thin walled shotgun barrel with rifled slugs should be allowed to cool down a lot more if the goal is legit grouping analysis?

IDK...Your question is a good one. I surmise a thin bbl would cool faster like a lighter projectile sheds energy.

I post all this slug shit as I believe the above (example) ^^^^could be the epitome of a versatile gun if equipped with adjustable "1911" sights: For the rest: See what you can do with your bird guns and bead from the bench: It's better than slogging through the shit and trying to find the "vitals" through a "400yd scope" IMO.

Been years since I used a shotgun for deer, our waterfowl hunting spot in western Minnesota along the Minnesota river had a large whitetail population, many mornings deer in our field spread, when deer season opened my old browning 10ga was loaded with 1st rd goose loads 2nd and 3rd 2oz lead cannon ball slugs, man the damage they did.

It is illegal to have slugs in a shotgun when hunting waterfowl.
Just saying.
Or even in your possession.

For sure is a federal offense.
Probably in all likelihood a state offense too.
You shouldn't be posting stuff like this.

Perhaps you were talking smack. ??
