Those between the ages of 45 and 54 have seen a startling increase in death rates.

What's causing it?

So where is the actual collapsed culvert? Shouldn't it be visible if that's what happened?

You could see a concrete culvert/ bridge under the road and a steam on the other side. I'm guessing there was a stream or drainage but IHOP or original owner wanted to make use of the space.

I'm kind of surprised you don't see things like this more often. Look at a town like Deadwood which has springs running under the whole town.

I see collapsed culvert "ends" at both 0:00 and 0:53 (both ends)

i just assumed the rest of it is there. Can't imagine what would be between the end pieces other than more collapsed culvert?

Water appears to be flowing out at 0:00.

Second to the last line in the above linked article:

As for Billy Jack Ethridge, he says the doors to his dealership shut for good in 2009 due to company-wide closures.

I'll bet Obama closed this Chevy or GMC or Cadillac dealership when he took over/restructured GM!

Eleventh to the last line said it was a Lincoln Mercury dealership.

We still have green grass up here in the hills , The ponds skim over with ice at night once in awhile but thaw again during the day.

You're right, I didn't pick up on that. My neighbor at the Lake owned Fisher Motors in Minot and lost his GM/Caddie dealership in 2009 when Obama took over GM and I assumed that this was the same.

We're back in California and there actually may be some frost and/or snow on the surrounding hills tomorrow. We had a good rain Sunday afternoon/evening and Monday morning, and we do need it out here. Usually been in the 50's or 60's during the day tho.

We have not had a crab season yet this year. It was supposed to open last Saturday, but due to a red tide algae bloom this summer the crabs have a toxic acid (domoic acid) in their meat and viscera and the CA Fish and Game Commission has delayed the opening of the Recreational crab season for up to 180 days until the crabs are safe to eat. Likewise the Director of the Dept. of F & G has delayed the opening of the commercial dungeness crab season.

Bummer - I always leave Lake Metigoshe to get back to CA to get ready for the crab opener!!! Didn't work out this year.

I thought you were in the consulting/engineering business and therefore you worry about "being responsible" for project outcomes.

Looks brand new. Professional liability issue.

never mind.

I'm an environmental consultant. Poor some oil in the hole. Then it would be my problem. Otherwise, it's just another situation where an engineer had his head up his own rectum.

I meant to say that you could probably relate.

Guess not since it's not oil.

are we running out of area to build stuff? I was just in Kansas last week and it seemed as I was flying over the middle part of the country that we have lots of room for IHOP and other stuff. No need to build on top of a hidden sink hole...haha #sinkholelivesmatter

Scary shi'ite, happened in a Corvette museum a while back. Ground water erodes a cavern.

Attempted grand theft auto, reminds me of movies like Gone in 60 Seconds, The Town, and The Italian Job, nailed it; case closed.
