Sad you came up with this. I know he's a retired geneticist. I hope he's not being lampooned. I too considered this. I've watched a lot of stuff and just believe it's for preserving memories.

Haha i dont DVR the antiques roadshow but while channel surfing, I have been caught in trances' that send me into a time/space vortex (pun intended) of overwhelmingly interesting boredom.
