Yeah we are going to have to move north and east to find good ice soon. That 53 with high winds is going to do allot of damage to our already shitty ice!

Friend sent me this one of a truck going in near camp Grafton on devils

Correct me if I am wrong ---- isn't this right off 57 when going south to casino --- that is a shoreline that water slips back and forth on into some backup water (that backup water was a hot spot at one time enslows secret honeyhole). Anyway --- I think people have this false sense of shallow water is better to drive on -- and that is far from the truth -- sunlight and current wreck shallow water ice.

I always hear about guys saying they will stay close to shore later in the year. If I'm driving on I would rather park my pickup in the middle of the lake.

Yeah I was pretty sure it was that spot as well. Shallow water is asking for trouble in years like this. Most guys call them springs but like you said its normally just water getting heated by the dark bottom and rising and eating the ice from below. One of the big reasons why Audubon can be such a truck eater with all those sunken humps.

That's what you get for setting up on a pressure ridge. Sincerely hope everyone is safe though.

Drove across 83 embankment today. Ice still looks fine on Audobon and Sak. Lots of trucks on audobon.
