    Price of land just keeps going

    A section of land that I used to hunt for deer sold for 1.2 million. Zero crop land. Some grass but mostly deer cover. North of Beach.

    Stainless steel frying pans

    Stainless steel is great for cooking many things. But frying is not. At least for me. Supposedly if you get the pan hot enough before adding the meat it shouldn’t stick. Something I apparently can’t do. I like the cast iron for frying.

    I planted Yaqui paste tomatoes for salsa. They are loaded and ripening. Tennis ball size. But after that the other six varieties are slow but large.

    Late season they spook a half mile away. I’ve seen it many times. Back in the late 70’s, early eighties this was the hay day for grouse. I could tell you stories but won’t. Those were the days.

    I've seen groups that big right North of Beach. Several times. About the second week of November. Not in the last few years as numbers are diminished. I have been told that North of Beach they are scarce this year.

    Water Levels

    For us that fish Oahe higher levels is just what we need. Earlier this spring Beaver Bay was more like a slough.
