    Swan hunters

I hunted them for a few years. I bought a set of swan decoys from tanglefree. They respond to calling really well, just try and mimic them with your own voice. It feels ridiculous doing it but it always worked for me.

    Paddlefishing.

I use 40-50# mono. Lots of guys use braid and say it helps get better hook up and get your gear back when snagged on logs and stuff but I like mono so I can break it on snags. I usually come prepared with plenty of hooks and weights anyway. As for the fish fighting, as long as there's plenty of...

    Paddlefishing.

I've always used 10 or 12/0. I'm afraid if I use any smaller the hook might not have the surface area to grab the fish. Could just be my imagination though.

‘Tis the Season for Trophy Birds

Check out Frenchy in Minot. I've never had a bad bird from him and he did 3 buffleheads together for me and they're beautiful.

    Goose Loads

I've always kept 2 boxes in my blind bag. 3" 2s for when im hunting the same field the birds are feeding in and 3 1/2" BB for when im running traffic which I do frequently since I hunt by myself a lot and only need 5/8 birds. As for giving myself an idea for range, I always set a decoy in the...

    Boundary waters canoe/camping

Did it a few years back and my advice would be to hit some of the smaller lakes. The perch, bass, northern, and musky fishing is incredible in those small places. There's little or even no pressure for sometimes years at a time. We casted cranks and spoons on rockpiles and we're filleting and...

Hey guys, new to this forum and new to salmon fishing here in ND. So I figured I'd see what everyone has to say as Im pretty green to this type of fishing. This past spring I picked up a pair of downriggers and will be making a pair of rods for them. I also have a set of trolling rods that I was...
