    Amazing!!

    There might not be much difference in taste between bleeding and not bleeding, but you won't have much blood on your fillet board afterwards. For the little time it takes to snip the gills I find it worth while.

    GDU/Heckers

    I tried to get to heckers in early December after the first or second storm and couldn't get there then. As of Sunday night I drove by on 41 and didn't look like any plows had been down the road on the south side going to heckers. I only tried to get there the one time.

    Which do you prefer?

    For me it's ice fishing, shore fishing, then boat fishing. I find the first two very relaxing and peaceful, fishing from a boat can be a cluster at times. I can usually get away from the crowds and find decent spots on the ice.

    Pellet grills in the rain?

    I've had rain showers roll through while cooking with no issues. As said before you might have a drop in temp and don't get the pellets wet. I had some fall on the ground and get wet and they turn into little piles of saw dust.

    What tikka said, during open water I usually run a 3-way swivel just before the steel leader and run mono about 6 inches longer than the steel leader for the weight and use a bigger bobber to hold it all up.

    2 cycle question

    I believe as long as a 2 cycle motor is able to get gas it will run in any position. The lubrication comes from the gas/oil mix circulating in the crankcase before entering the cylinder. I could be wrong though.

    I'm glad it isn't just me. I've only been out twice and have yet to catch a walleye. I've caught perch and pike in spots I usually have good luck on during early ice.
