Headed out Sunday to chase crappies....wound up with a limit, a couple bonus walleye, and a bunch of white bass. Was a great day to chase and learn with Livescope. Pinhead jig and a minnow head in 32-36 feet of water for the win! Most crappies I kept were 10-12 inches, had to keep a few bigger than I normally would due to barotrauma. Biggest was 14.5".

50 foot long school of white bass:

Ya know maybe I don't want to fish with you and see the tech in action first hand. Then I will want one more. Just not getting out as much as I used to to justify it and got the itch to hunt different animals, black bear, audad, antelope, elk, Rio/Osceola turkey just to name a few other than whitetail, muley, eastern/merriam turkey

Have you been keeping and cleaning the white bass? Been quite a few years since I kept them from open water, have yet to get one thought the ice but always figure they would be a blast to catch. You mention smallmouth so now you really got my attention

Well, today didn't disappoint. Another multi species day including white bass, crappies, walleye, and smallmouth. Below is a video of the crappies we found and an underwater structure. What do you think it is? Bridge? Fence?

That's truly amazing catdaddy and it's not very often you get to see first hand pics to show the awesomeness of this machine. I may have to start selling drugs so I can buy one myself one day, thanks for sharing bud.

I kept 8 a few weekends ago. Trick is to get all the red meat off. When they're 17-18" fish it leaves a lot of meat for the plate. Out of ice cold water they taste pretty dang good.

We ended up with 4 smallmouth, biggest being 17". Nice bonus, I don't think I've ever caught them through the ice!

I done some "research" on winter smallmouth. My determination: There is no pattern and it's all hit or miss. I hope Cat shares the wisdom.

They were hanging around the structure I posted. Hadn't caught any elsewhere and used the same tactics/baits as for crappie and whitebass. Not sure it's a pattern at all but seemed like that fence/bridge/dock was holding all species nearby. The smallies were very near or in schools of other species.

How is the fight under the ice? Also Sir I'd damn sure pinpoint that spot for mid-summer not only for SMB.

Honestly, the white bass fight was better. Those things are a riot until they start swimming hard circles near the hole and your line "pops" as it hits their dorsal fin.

The smallies felt like nice walleye - not quite the fight they put up during the summer. But then again, I caught 3 smaller ones (14-15 inches) while my buddy caught the 17".

And yes, the spot has been marked for later adventures.....

I suppose you don't even use any other electronics when you have an all in one unit especially since the unit has GPS mapping included to mark all your hot fishing spots. I'm super jealous CatDaddy šŸ˜« ain't gonna lie šŸ˜©
