Its been pretty amazing to watch. The fish for us have moved deeper recently, but really like the rising water! The dock at Walth Bay has been pulled up a few times as the ramp has been under water.

The Bismarck Tribune has the discharge at 90 plus thousand for Oahe. Somebody has sticky fingers. that's impossible discharges.

Yeah the dock at Langliers last weekend was maybe 2" above the water, hopefully they got down and brought it out a bit by now.

Govt at work. 😆

You can't really believe the government publishes the Bismarck Tribune, can you?

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (you know, the part of the U.S. government that runs Oahe) says there is 10,500 cubic feet per second coming out of Oahe.

Did they reduce flows out of Oahe because of the flooding further south? It looks like they expect Oahe to keep going up now and Sak is about done just short of 1843'

We can only hope for more rain in the Missouri and Mississippi drainage systems for lake levels to get back to normal.

This is just another example of the Corps using the cards dealt them to "rebalance" the system. Sakakawea received bonus runoff from the unexpectedly generous late spring rains and rose a fair bit more than expected. The water wasn't passed on down through the system for a number of reasons. First, they didn't/don't need/want the water now in the Mississippi and lower Missouri for flood concerns, and secondly electric power generating orders were probably already expecting lower flows, so no reason to release water that's not generating revenue.

You know, you could have just said "I meant it as a joke", but couldn't help yourself by adding a jab. What's the matter? Got a little sand in your nether regions?

For us that fish Oahe higher levels is just what we need. Earlier this spring Beaver Bay was more like a slough.
