As far as I know right now all ramps except Drayton are open right now.
Catfishing is picking up with the spawn mostly over. Water temps are now in the low 80s. Fishing has been best tight to the submerged tree stumps and root balls and inside bends with deeper drop offs. That said, I recently have seen more fish moving into the outside seams and faster water. This is not uncommon to see as water the flows level out and post spawn feed takes hold. I am still using 5oz of sinker is the minimum to stick a bait where you want it but will probabably be changing to fours over the next few days. Give a spot a 20- 30 minutes so the fish have time to find the bait.
Dead sucker is the only bait I have tried. As long as it works I will stick to it. Don’t be afraid to try goldeye or frog if you have some.
July 20th there is a tournament in Pembina and July 21st Oslo. Cats Incredible in East Grand Forks is July 26 and 27th. Catfish Capital Challenge in Drayton ($10,000 guaranteed 1st place) is August 9 and 10.
