How about a little good news? The Red at Grand Forks and north is up a few inches this week. Now the bad (maybe), the river has turned green, and the jury is still out on whether this is good for fishing or bad.
Fishing is still a rollercoaster this week. Water temps stabilized in the mid-70s and fishing has been very comfortable the past week. One huge positive is the fish are starting to look much better but are still a bit skinny. There has been a small front move through about every other day the past week and that has kept fishing sort of a crap shoot on where to go and what to do. So far, the answer is just keep grinding. Try all the spots and work your timer to find what is working then try to replicate it.
Bait remains two-to-three-day dead sucker. I did catch a couple on goldeye as well.
Good luck to all anglers competing on Friday and Saturday at the Catfish Capital Challenge at Drayton.
