On March 8th I will again be teaming up with River Keepers of Fargo to bring another FREE seminar. This year's topic will be Efficiency in Catfishing. From simple things like where to set things in the boat to how to work a clock to stay on fish. Of course how to utilize your electronics to...

    Cool Article Captain Brad!

With AutoChart Live you can find spots on spots and get into the little waters and make detailed maps. I just picked up a Helix 5 G2 to put on my kayak so I can map tiny waters for ice fishing.

Thanks for those who filled it out. We have what we need for step one. There may be a more detailed one coming later on.

    Survey- Please help

I am doing a little consulting this winter and hoping to maybe learn a few things for myself along the way. Could you take a moment to fill out this survey about fishing guides. This does not refer specifically to catfish so all input is welcome. Thanks you

Monster Whitetail Taken in North Dakota

I have done some research on this deer, made some calls and got some reports from some people I consider very reputable and it is the real deal. I don't know the hunter, just of him but it is truly the buck of a lifetime.

    DI or SI

I use si in my catboat exclusively. If you are looking for an all around unit to be used all year long, I would get si. It is a teaching tool for sure on structure and once you get used to it a fishing finding tool as well.

Lowrance or Humminbird for ice fishing

It is the same head unit. The ice pack, battery and ice ducer is what changes the price. I converted a Helix 5 for ice a few years back and use it all year long. No issues.

    Humminbird 360 for ice fishing

I'm sure it would work for schools with no issue. I have one I would sell

    Catfishing With The Captain

It was a fun trip. Two sections of river, two ways of fishing and both worked. I am glad you had a good time and a good Birthday. BTW, that kid told me he was sorry for killing our bite, will until I thanked him for making us move and get on fish again.

Boy's new PB (proud dad moment)

So a few weeks back a window opened up to sneak up to the Canadian side of the Red so I could actually catch some catfish rather than be the net man. We had a new guy in this operation, my 7 year old boy. He is no stranger to big cats but had never been to that stretch. As far as the fishing...

    pontoon anchor

I am a big fan of Cat River Anchors. They were designed for the fast current of the MO and MS down south. Add 3' of chain and attach to a 100' rope and you will not break loose. Best part is they are designed to get back when they get stuck and cost about $30 less than a Richtor.

    What's your sonar setup?

In my walleye boat I have 3. I have an old 2d in the console and have everything wired up for a HB 898. Normally I sit in the bow and live bait so I have the 898 up there in split screen then hook a Helix 5 to the trolling motor. This gives me views of both ends of the boat. Now for 2018 the...

Suggestions: Son Needs His First Rod

My boy is 7 now but last summer I got him into the Scheels Trophy combo for about $50. We now have a couple of them. I like it because the combo doesn't break the bank and it is sensitive enough that he can actually feel fish. It has worked out well for us.

    Tagging Catfish

The exciting news around the Red the past couple years has been catching a tagged catfish from Manitoba. Yesterday I joined the crew in charge of that study from University of Nebraska here in Grand Forks to help them catch fish so they could surgically implant GPS transmitters so we can track...
