Cable is expensive but I am one who likes to watch sports. If the Vikings would have blown another lead last night the cost would have increased as I'd be shopping for a new TV today to replace the one the hammer went through. Prices keep going up but I prefer to just get over it and pay for...

    Prayers needed

Good to hear the cancer is responding to treatment. Not so good to hear of her pain. Praying that there will be continued progress and a full recovery.

One man ice house or small two man

Yes, you do need a snowbear. But then you'd need a bigger trailer and a heated garage to park it in so the ice would thaw. As sportsmen there is always something we need.

One man ice house or small two man

I have a 6 1/2 X 16 wheel house, a 2-man flip over and a pop-up. Like them all, depending on the day. If I had one it would be the pop-up. It's more spacious than the flipover and I can also spear out of it. I also like the wheel house for the comfort of basically fishing indoors although it's...

    Blizzard?? What Blizzard??

Drove from Steele up HWY 3 to Canadian border this afternoon. No road issues other than a few short stretches of compacted show but didn't seem real slippery. Pretty much drove 65-70 and occasionally slowed to about 50. Visibility a mile or more most of the time. More snow the further north I...

    Bass Pro & Sportsman Warehouse

Maybe I'm getting to old and cranky but it seems that Cabela's has gone downhill since their merger. Quality seems to have suffered in my opinion.

    Giant MLB Buck

Read some of the comments from the story. Some didn't think any trophy from managed property should be eligible for trophy status. Define managed property. I obviously don't know every landowner in this state but the ones I do know and are active deer hunters, their land is managed in some...

    6mm TSX recovered

I've had similar experience with the TTSX that I use. Same for a .243, 25-06, and .270. Use 80 gr. in the .243, 100 in the .25, and 110 in the .270 unless it's for elk and then use 130gr. . Don't recover many but the few I have there has been less than 1-2 gr. in weight lost.

    Gratitude

We don't often enough take the time to remind us of why we should be grateful. I have a great family with children who have made me proud and grandkids that bring me so much joy. My wife and I have good health and worked a long time to have the resources to do most of what we want and when we...

Devils Lake Fishing/Hunting Lodge - Looking for Input

From experience I really liked an outdoor water spigot with hot water. Nice for cleaning up dogs and hosing off waders etc. with warm water instead of freezing cold. Plus all the mud stays outside. For coffee, I was at an elk hunting lodge 2 years ago as well as 3 years. The first year they...

    Ending Fargo bow hunting

God I hate when I hear the term or reason for not doing something "It's time-consuming." No shit, people get paid to do things that take time. When I was a school administrator working on schedules was time-consuming. So was doing teacher evaluations. If it's a problem at least be able to...

    Kyle Ritenhouse~

Today is the first I've watched much of the trial. If I were on the jury I would be so tired of the prosecuting attorney that I would have already make up my mind. How many times to they get to ask the same question? The judge seems pissed and he's got way more patience than I would have.

    Hearing safety--Something to think about

Pretty much in the same boat as everyone above. Finally gave in to my wife a few years ago and went to an audiologist. yes he recommend hearing aids so I relented and bought a pair. Expensive? yes. Would I do it again? In a minute. Don't find them difficult to wear. They do help in loud areas...

    BPS Hates The outdoors

Used to do some subbing at a school that blocked access to Cabela's. Evidently the website was set to block any access that involved guns. Has since been changed and there are very few websites that are blocked. Computers and the web access is a double-edged sword. Easy access to a huge amount...

    hunting ethics

I watched for something illegal. Shooting off a motor-driven vehicle. That 4-wheeler was there long before the shooter was. Nothing illegal there in my mind. I saw a good hit the first shot. Then as the bull stood, dying, the shooters only finishing shot would have been the famous Texas-heart...

    Trespass Law Question

As I understand the issue, there is a difference between "Hunting without permission." and "Trespassing". Therefore two different sets of rules. may seem minor but they are the rules. For the hunting issue the signs are supposed to be signed, not necessary for trespassing is what I've been told...

    Duct Cleaning

My experience with dryer vent is the metal vent flows better than the flexible hose. The flex duct has to many ridges and that stops lint. Do know of a family who had serious fire damage to their house this past year because the lint in the dryer vent started on fire. Yes a dryer vent should be...
