    Back Straps

One suggestion there was to unwrap and cook the bacon a bit separately. I think that’s what I’ll do. Soggy, floppy bacon=not ideal.

    Back Straps

I found some pre bacon wrapped ones that were done by the processor. I’m going to give those a shot first for dinner tomorrow. I’m assuming I can treat them like a beef filet wrapped in bacon?

    Back Straps

Thanks for all the ideas! I’ll probably start with the simple salt, pepper, and butter and go from there. I get the sense that a fruit/wine/port reduction is important lol.

    Back Straps

I never hunted big game a lot, much less successfully harvesting anything. We always seemed to get all the venison we wanted from others’ surplus, but never the revered back straps. I recently was able to do a deer and nilgai hunt and now have some of that meaty gold in my freezer. For a noob...

They have cracklins and the regular pork rinds, I buy the cracklins. They seem to be a touch softer than Mac’s and a little saltier. I’ve noticed the same thing with Mac’s haha Cap’n Crunch is spot on.

I’ll have to look for those. Down here pork rinds seem much more popular than back home and there’s a quarter of an aisle dedicated to them at Wally. There’s a brand called Mambi that are made in Miami I think. They’re a notch above Mac’s in my opinion.

    Yes. This has been discussed.

100% true about Mac’s. Even if not dipping they’re the only ones to get. The rest are just mouth drying pig foam.

    Traction master

I used to put those in my old shoes for running in the winter. They worked great, just had to change the screws often. Once the heads wore flat it was like running on a dozen tiny hockey pucks. Still preferred them to yak tracks.

    Cordless lawn tools

I have a Milwaukee weed eater and it’s fantastic. I got it for battery compatibility like you said as I already had some of their tools. I have no complaints about it; the gas never gets old, it always starts, and it’s lighter than the husky I had. If you have Home Depot near you ryobi might be...

    War monuments in North Dakota

I’ll put another vote in for the missile site. I grew up well after most of the Cold War, but it was sobering nonetheless. It’s a real eye-opener as to how far technology has come too. There’s probably more computing power in my phone than that entire room full of missile control equipment.

I’m a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess.

    Another winter storm

Wow, it looks like we picked a good year to move to South FL. Nothing but sunshine and ball sweat here. Seriously I wish the best to all my former ND compatriots and hopefully a good gradual warmup with minimal flooding. There is a lot I miss about living there but not biting my nails down every...

Bought a New Mask Today - even Dr. Lunk would approve….

I know there’s a dive school in Moorhead that offers classes I believe. You’ll do the first part in a pool and then they do dive trips in MN. Or you can do your certification dives in the warm places. I’m not sure, but Bismarck may have a dive school too.

How about the sperm lights downtown? I can’t remember what they cost but I remember being…surprised.

    Toby

That is good stuff, my wife gave me a hard time once for having one of those in the morning after a night shift. I told her it’s made from oatmeal so It’s breakfast in a bottle! I recently moved to south Florida and I swear There must be a law on how many beers in a case. 24 pack is the...

Good Read by Paul Harvey 1965.

I remember "The Rest of the Story" from when I was a kid growing up on AM radio. I think it was WCCO 830. I also remember "Stand by for News!" and when he would end with that sort of squeaky "Good Day." When I worked harvest and snow removal over night I'd catch Coast to Coast. You never...

    Toyota 4 Runner 2 ?s

I do think newer vehicles use a bit more electricity at rest than older ones do. Though I'm not sure what you've experienced would be 'normal.' Around the time my Mom passed and just after her car sat unused in the garage for a long time, about 3 months. When my Dad tried to start it up the...

    Youth Shotgun reviews and comparison

I nearly bought an 870 for my 11 year old, but ended up getting a Tristar semiauto. At least I think that's the 'brand.' It's made in Turkey and it was relatively inexpensive. I wanted to minimize recoil as much as possible for him when he was beginning shooting and figured a gas semiauto was...
