    Anyone drift sock anymore?

Never used one, never had a problem catching fish in wind even on Sak. I think people fish to slow though in general. Speed up and get the reaction bite and cover more water rather than dangling a worm at .5mph!

    Boat Wet Yet?

Before you blame G&F you may want to check who is responsible for the docks you are wondering about. Its likely the County or Corp that is responsible for the docks. There may be a number to call on the game and fish website for whatever access you are wondering about. Boat has been wet 3 times...

    Open water. Are you ready?

Looks like as of now they are predicting about another 8', currently we are a foot higher than last year at this time

    Bug Muddy?

I believe they do Tare the scale for big fish. I'm not sure the overall weights make sense otherwise.

    Winter kill

Both those above lists are from 2019, below link is what I can find for this year. Ice is just coming off so they don't know anything for sure yet. https://gf.nd.gov/fishing/dissolved-oxygen-monitoring

    Fishing numbers

I don't expect to see any noticeable decline on Sak. The Mo has seen fewer people this spring but that's largely because of the lack of bite from muddy water conditions. Overall, dangling a worm in your local water is still about the cheapest past-time activity one can do.

    Instead of College

For everyone saying most of this should be up to the parents, in a perfect world I would agree, but that's not realistic. There are a lot of kids without much or any guidance and that's kind of where the public schools come in. For many kids its the only structure, meals, chance to succeed they...

    Hazelton Boat ramp

Oahe was 1589.71 on Jan 1st and now sits at 1598.04 so over an 8' rise. It seems to me like they were letting more than usual out of Sak all winter and allowing Oahe to rise.

    Instead of College

Yeah the only thing on that list that should be "required" is some extensive personal finance which schools do have in some form I believe just not enough. Bismarck does have a Career Academy but not quite sure what is all offered through that. Maybe more things could be offered as electives...

    Hazelton Boat ramp

Wind does affect the gauges, but looks like the lake did actually raise that much as the inflows really surged and are now going back down. I'm thinking that was the main surge of local runoff and now we wait for the mountain runoff.

Sounds like I need to put the tesla shingles on my house!

    Hazelton Boat ramp

The mountains are a little above average but that water has to come through Peck and Sak which are both low as well. I think Oahe will benefit a little from all the ND runoff that flows unimpeded to Oahe.

    Another winter storm

Looks like they moved the snow totals west a bit.

    Throwback Pike

Wowzer, that thing was probably close to 30#. Back in about 02-03 I got a 24# through the ice in the spring on Sak. I didn't get a measure on it though. Only fish we caught that day as well and released her to swim again. This pic reminds me of that but this one looks bigger than mine.
