    Retirement Opportunity

3Roosters and SDMF nailed it. Only a couple things i can add to the conversation. a 529 fund (kids college account) also serves as a "Roth" type investment, as it grows tax free and it can be passed onto beneficiaries. So, if my kids don't use use theirs, they can pass it onto their kids...

    Alternative to suspended ceiling panels?

Sheetrock. It's not that hard for a pro to repair an area or two of Sheetrock if you need to add something later. Just install more recessed lights than you'll think you need and put them on a dimmer, maybe install an electrical sub-panel in the basement somewhere (if your main panel isn't in...

    Pike Surprise in Stomach

"Tee it High and Let it Fly" doesn't have to be a golf course! I've been known to tee one up where ever and hit it as hard as I can. mostly into fields on highway construction projects I've worked on during down time. I bet there are a bunch of golf balls at the bottom of some of the residential...

    Ham in Sausage?

we mixed up 20 lbs of it last year. it was alright. We used 10 lbs of ground ham and 10 lbs of our pork sausage. Tasted alright, a good change of pace, but i wouldn't want a bunch of it.

    Old Guns

there are guys that still shoot those old rifles in competition. Even here in ND you can get into an M1 Garand match, 1903 Springfield, 303 British, etc. I'm sure those cowboy action competitions still use old pre-64 Winchesters and older marlin rifles. Fun stuff, I'm jealous of you guys...

    Snowblowers

A tip in the family handyman magazine a few years back, is to take cooking spray and spray the inside of your snow blower at the beginning of the season. spray down the chute and all surfaces in and out and you won't have as big an issue with clogging. Also works with blades, plows, shovels...

    Snowblowers

I bought a lightly used Toro 1128, 28" cut and 11 HP motor three years ago. I have no reason to consider getting something else. It always starts on the first pull. I've had no issues at all. I'd recommend to a fellow NDA'er

    Silverado 6.0 Engine for towing

https://chevroletforum.com/forum/vindecoder.php?vin=1GCHK29U15E181005 I put your VIN into this decoding software. says you have 4:10's. I would take your truck to Racer Performance in Bismarck. Before you go messing around online with stuff that may or may not work, go talk to them. And that...

    Towing question

i've had just about everything for work vehicles, including tacomas, frontiers, f-150s, chevy 1500's with both the 4.8 and the 5.3. The newer chevy 1500 pickups will get 20+ MPG on the highway with no load. The tacomas and frontiers are around 17. both of the smaller pickups have short wheel...

    MECHANIC Advice needed

A $2,500 transmission is nothing compared to a new suburban. That engine is bulletproof, and if its as good of shape as your saying, its well worth replacing the tranny in my opinion (if that is the issue). Especially because you're likely not going to find one in as good of shape as yours. When...
