    Used fiberglass boat questions

Look at the rear 3rd of the floor and transom. Other than that the old Yars are generally trouble free. I have rebuilt 2 of them....

    Lithium Deep Cycle Batteries

I am running lithiums in this years boat. It is a significant weight savings at a cost. Also, I like the idea of the bowmount running normal until they are at nearly zero juice. I will see how it goes I guess.

    Car restoration

A couple years ago I found out I had all of the desire and none of the skill. I bought a 70 Chevy c10. It already had a new 350, some interior work done, and new rockers and cab corners. I thought I could do some basic body work, brake and suspension upgrades, and some other tidbits and have...

    Garmin new transducer.

My gt34 is on pre-order. My wife will love running it in the back of the boat while I use Active Target in the front.

    Smooth move seats.

1st gen Smooth Moves were an ejection seat. The second gen Ultra Air Smooth Moves are fantastic; but heavy and bulky. I have used Airwaves and am pretty sure I suffered a back fracture in a boat with them. I have changed to Wave Pros. Light weight, rebuildable, and much better than factory...

    graph (fish finder for graph)

I run both brands in each boat. Lowrance Live 9 is a great unit. Good clarity and large enough to do multiple things at 1 time. Also, decent enough screen size for Active Target.

    Verado issues

Digital throttle issue. You will likely need a diagnostic scan. 1st I'd pull off the throttle off the sidewall and make sure all connections are solid.

Dealt with it in our house this last fall/winter. Never fun. Thoughts and prayers for healing and sanity.

    600 merc

It is my understanding that over 21 or 22 ft it is more up to the mfg of the boat with USCG approval. Basically whatever they feel their transom, etc can handle. Under that there are length, weight, beam, etc calculations to reach max hp per uscg regs.

    Upgrade with NEW Electronics.??

I honestly rarely use the contour follow option. It is only as good as the mapping; which is never super accurate. I also have difficulty when I lack "control" of the boat and prefer to have the remote in my hand nearly all of the time. I run 2 Helix and 2 Live 9s. I love the combo overall...

    Upgrade with NEW Electronics.??

If he truly is a tightwad... Have him get a Terrova or Ulterra 112 with LINK. 112lb at least 60 inch shaft. Pair it with a Helix 9, 10, or 12 up front ethernetted to another at the console. That is the only way to follow contours. He could add a Lowrance Live 9 to console for other...

    Floor Heat Help

Yes. Bare tubes stick out out of floor in my unattached shop. Currently heated with propane forced air unit (propane). My attached garage has floor heat hooked up (electric). My electric bill only goes up 15-20/mo with the garage set at 55 degrees. Went through over 400gal of propane in...

    Floor Heat Help

I just want to find someone that will set me up with floor heat in my shop (elec is fine). I have 3 zone loops. The propane air unit is killing my monthly budget.
