    270 vs. 30-06

    No one mentioned the 7-08 in this debate. The 7-08 has good knock-down, mild noise and recoil, good long-range capabilities (with-in reason), and works nicely for the females and kids. Oh--and did I mention: It drops a deer or antelope like a rock!

    Deer growth from last year

    Do realize that moisture is a major factor in antler growth. Deer need water for normal growth, antler growth and dissolved minerals to aid in length and mass of headgear. It's been pretty dry, and the antlers are going to show it!

    Tell them you'd like to talk to them, but you need to put the phone down for a minute while you let the dog in. Then wait about 10 minutes, go back, if they're still there yell "SUCKER", and hang up. If there gone, you won.

    Real bacon is better, but turkey bacon cooks better in this application.

    Pound to flatten a dove breast half, add a slice of jalapeno and some cream cheese rolled inside, and wrap with 1/2 strip of turkey bacon secured with a soaked toothpick. Grill over medium heat til turkey bacon is done. YUM

    Cajun Injector from Scheels: digital programming and temp meat probe for ease of use, and just set it and forget it (unless you need extra wood chips- a neat side chute so you don't need to open the main door. It's an electric unit for add'l ease of use. Works good for under $200!

    It's 10:10 pm on the 4th, and the fireworks at the Capitol Grounds have been going for about 10 minutes. I always chuckle at the fuddy-duddies that complain after the fireworks show about "all the noise". They are upset that the ruckus bothers them and their sleep. I feel that the 4th of July...
