    Location/Emergency Beacon Advice Needed

    I would look into the Garmin InReach. I use it for elk hunting in remote areas and you can send texts or use the SOS feature in an emergency. It also pairs to your smart phone using bluetooth to easily share waypoints, send messages, etc.

    Spreadsheet question

    I would just use the filter and sort functions in excel. Create headers across the top for the various categories (series, year, etc.), and the input the data in the rows below. Then you'll be able to sort by any column and could also add filters to pull specific data from any of the columns.

    Bring out your dead!

    Found five this weekend and wasn't even looking that hard. One was still alive and we walked within 20 feet of her. She sat there nibbling on grass and could hardly move. Call the local warden and he gave me permission to dispatch her. Returned 30 minutes later and she was already dead.

    Lots of dead deer north of Mandan, and found two this weekend on some property SW of Mandan. We have a group of 5-6 bald eagles that hang out along the heart river on the property. There were approximately 6-8 golden eagles hanging around the area with the bald eagles this weekend. I'm guessing...

    Load Testing

    Snuck out this weekend to do a little more testing with the 77.5 load and just messed with the seating depth. Started out at .050" off the lands and went out to .150". Only had to shoot the .050" and .075" before I had seen enough. The .050" was about 0.35 MOA and the .075" was sub .25 MOA...

    It is shooting quite well, but the difference of 300fps between the two charges equates to a difference in drop of 11" at 500. That is pretty significant.

    Been doing a lot of load testing on my 300WM. Finally found two loads that shoot well, but can't decide what to do next. Loaded from 73.5 up to 77.5 grains of RL26. First charge - 73.5 grains of RL26 pushing a 180 barnes TTSX a hair over 2800fps. 0.335MOA (all touching with 2 in the same hole)...

    Arrow Building

    Shoot fp and bh groups at 20-30 yards. 4 arrows with 2 of each tip. Note the impact location of the bh and make micro adjustments to the rest (horizontal/vertical) to bring them together. Be sure to make very small adjustments.

    I'm running a similar setup with the BE rampage 200 spine. Arrows are 29 - 29.5" (can't remember) with a 50 grain BE insert and 100 grain tip. I'm right at 500 grains at 285fps with a 31" draw.
