    Youth Deer Season

from what I know Whitetail doe tags for 11-13 can get each year, actual any youth tag only once at 14 or 15, not both. As for Antlered mule deer I would guess the #'s very each year by the yearly deer counts out there. From G&F site below NOTE: Online lottery applications should be available in...

    Youth Deer Season

Didn't think I was going to be doing any guiding for Youth this year but got a call on Wednesday and asked if I would be willing to take a friends boy out Saturday as this was the only day he would be able to hunt due to school and work commitments. I was worried how tough it would be with the...

    Bring out your dead!

by gun season we should have had a hard freeze by then and the death will stop for the most part and any deer at that time should be fine. But bow hunters at at this time could be taking a effected deer. They say there is no threat of human transfer but if a deer looks sick at all I wouldn't...

    Bring out your dead!

found these 2 on a short walk along the creek on Sunday, didn't look real hard as I am very gimpy with a bad knee at this time. Afraid of what I would find if I put a real effort into it. I found another one in a cattail area but couldn't get at it as it was in a marshy area, looked like a real...

    graph (fish finder for graph)

maybe check with who you are buying from what they had and probably consider that since it would already be set up for that after researching if that would meet your needs

    New NDGF Director Announced

I have worked with him in the past for coordinating some training with my National Guard unit on some WMA around and seemed very down to earth and willing to help in training and taking care of the ND outdoor land and wildlife needs also. Excited to see the direction he takes G&F.

    Deer Tags

a simple but probably expensive solution is to issue new tags but with a different color then ever used and only this color tag is legal for the year. The system would have the needed info to reissue a different tag and accompanying letter. I would rather see new tags issued than see how many...

    mainlander

Was there 2 weeks ago and we were able to launch no problem but you needed to follow the creek channel or a chance of beaching in shallow water until you hit the deeper area. Not sure what lake level has done last couple weeks. My first time out of there so I really took my time and got thru.

    Magnet Fishing

the thought crossed my mind more than once but the outside temp was only 55 deg that day and water temp was still pretty cold also. Just kept working at it and finally succeeded. A few time I had it about 1/2 way up so figured just a matter of time and LUCK. Considered if needed might get a long...

    Magnet Fishing

Lost a anchor on the river this spring in about 8 foot of water, the anchor is about $160 to replace. So went and bought a $23 250 lb pull magnet and went after the anchor about 5 days after I lost it. Took about 15 minutes to locate it and about another 15 minutes and about 15-18 times...

    Big Muddy

Serious ? did they tare the scales or does that include basket weight on the big fish weights. If those are actual weights that is impressive, if you have to minus the basket weight still nice but a totally different story??

    Spring snows 2021

there was a flock of a couple thousand on Island lake on Sunday along the interstate and Saturday watched the white tornado dropping in on a small slew just west of Jamestown. Cant believe how many birds were in that area and the slew they were just starting to drop into was maybe the size of...

    River Today

So did any of you boys have plans to fish the River around Bismarck, if so you probably had a surprise if you went down to the dock. I would guess 25-50% ice flow coverage on the River and a good chance to put those Frogger video skills to work from years ago. Probably over some of your heads...

    Cross Ranch State Park

usually that section of the river slows down for Walleye, it does vary year to year, a lot of times you would be better traveling north to the UPA ramp or even the tailrace. Like I said different each year, but the middle part of river usually slows around end of may to early june. Hit me up...
