    Montana poacher banned for life

I'd be welling to bet my theory is 50% true - Once a poacher, always a poacher.

    MPG towing the boat

The trucks keep getting uglier each year. I can't tell the difference between a 1/2 ton Ram and GMC other than that 8 point end gate. Any truck can be a lemon. I've owned three Tundra's now (08, 17, now an 11) and all of them have been great to me. I had a 3/4 Ram diesel and it was great to me...

    MPG towing the boat

I've always been very impressed with my Tundra's and I've owned three now. My '17 would pull my 38' bumper pull and still manage 7-8 mpg. My latest Tundra ('11) doesn't do quite as well, but I like the style of the truck a lot more and it's leveled with bigger tires... At one point I just quit...

    new to boat fishing

These guys are right, nobody likes someone stuck on the ramp looking confused. Get a pair of ear muffs and make sure the boat runs first. Be proficient at backing up. Experienced boaters come in all ranges of patience, especially people wanting to fish. My advice, if you are very new, is to take...

    Smoke in the air.

Maybe i'm getting old and never noticed it before, but to me it seems the last 3 years have been much smokier than the 3-5 prior to that? IDK, it won't stop me from doing what i want. Suchs for asthma people tho.

    Blue tooth ear phones

I've been thru a few pairs of Bluetooth headphones. First were a pair of beats by dre my wife won, I thought they were the shit, but still had a "cord" so to speak, which connected the two buds and ran behind the neck. A couple years later I started to research completely wireless buds. If you...

    Pelican Point (Jamestown)

It was reported as a partial winter kill, but most of that seems to have been Buffalo fish and maybe some forage.... Saturday looks nice so I'd think you can find some fish off the fishing pier.

    Hulu + Live vs. Cable

Upgrading the internet's bandwidth would be worth it to prevent buffering. We don't watch much TV in the summer, so the month-by-month services that I can disconnect any time I want are perfect for us. HBO NOW, Netflix, Hulu, DirecTV Now at times, ESPN +, it all saves money in the long run. Also...

    Hulu + Live vs. Cable

Hulu Live is pretty damn good. Only thing that I didn't like was I didn't get local channels in Bismarck. This was quite a few years ago when it was still in the BETA version. Now I pick up all the local Fargo channels since moving away from Bis.... Used it off and on for 3 years now, mainly for...

    Helix 5 Installation near Jamestown?

I'm not a handy guy whatsoever so I don't want to install this on my own. It's nothing fancy, but I picked up a Helix 5 with SI from a friend. I'd like to use it beside the existing sonar, which is an older Eagle of some sort, so I can run 2D sonar on the Eagle alongside the Helix's SI/mapping...

    Power Loading - Bunk Trailer

I won't invest into a drotto yet, but I do as Bfishin says. Get the bunks completely wet, then pull out to expose bunks however far you feel. On calm days i'll only expose about 6" of my bunks, on a heavy side wind day i'll expose up to 3' so my ass end isn't kicking out as I pull it out of the...

    Winter kill

Went to Pipestem today as well. Did find some dead crappie by the boat ramp and they've been dead for a while. Damn near only bones left on them. Water is extremely high, well over the top of the boat ramp, they mustn't be releasing anything.

New to site, new in nodak

No doubt there, it's very easy to get around in there and be mobile from shore. Used to be my go to fishery for several years before moving.

Pitching Jigs - explain it like I’m five...

Jig fishing is by far my favorite type of fishing. ML rod with a sensitive tip, 6' or 6'3" two piece is what I prefer with braid straight to the jig or a fluoro leader. I'll try every type of retrieve possible.... A slow swim just off the bottom, pop and stop, a popping cadence/dance, or a slow...

    Winter kill

Well if my internet research is correct they are probably Buffalo (more silver) because Common appear to be yellow/gold in color? IDK, i'm not Carp expert and never want to be.

    Phone Scam - Heads Up

They got my late grandpa with this a few years back. He was in his 90's and they claimed to be his oldest son, who happens to be estranged from the family, but even know the sons name... Sick individuals out there.

    April Snowpocalypse

I'm not sure I can determine the real-time severity of this snowstorm without Weather Bucket's readings. While I enjoy KFYR and KXMB(s) efforts of anticipated precipitation amounts, the NWS does it so much better, IMO.
