    Removing Tree Stump

I doubt a pine stump will regrow. Broad leaf tree like ash or elm would but not pine. I use a 55 gal barrel with both ends cut out and throw in fire wood to kill a stump and get it burned below ground level.

How to preserve hunting when all land is posted

I hunt 3 sections of SSL that is cross fenced and unlike many, the renters do a great job of managing the grass. If a renter grazes it down to dirt he loses growth in the spring and thus lbs of beef to sell. But some don't care. I'd like to see the state put those wire cages out on the school...

    Dumb Ass

A day with a very mild breeze. Not another person around. Brought my boat in to the dock at the ramp and set some stuff out. Went to get the truck and coming back the boat had drifted out about a 100 yds. The quick wrap of the rope had slipped off the dock post. Swam out to the boat, just made...

    SB 2315 / Lockout

In 2019 the No Trespass bill was shoved through the Ad Committee which was a bunch of crap. Rumor has it in 2021 it will be the Natural Resources Committee. One of my House Reps said there are at least 3 different versions. It sounds like the Stockmen's Asc. are stepped aside. They lost a lot...

    SB 2315 / Lockout

ND Constitution, Article XI, Section 27, Text of Section 27: “ Hunting, trapping, and fishing and the taking of game and fish are a valued part of our heritage and will be forever preserved for the people and managed by law and regulation for the public good.[1][2] ” The 2 key phrases...

    Shingle~

Had a light case 10 years ago. If that was what a light case was like you do not want a severe case. Like getting toasted with a propane torch. People will be a believer in vaccines if they ever get shingles.

    Robinhood App

Here is an article from Bloomberg Businessweek on Robinhood & IPOs. Kind of like "irrational exuberance". https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-12-12/ipo-mania-sweeps-over-robinhood-crowd-and-stokes-a-111-rally?srnd=premium&sref=kyF8UQ5E

    Upland bird vest?

I have a Cabelas strap vest, probably 15 years old. It's good with a shirt for early sharp-tails or with a coat for late pheasants. The less weight the better when walking miles.

    Any Birders here?

A few of those show up in middle of May here but then pass through. A beautiful bird. I think they like more woods than I have here on the farm.

    Any Birders here?

Twenty five years ago the house finches were numerous at the feeder but then disease took them out. They are just starting to come back now at my feeder. If you have a hanging flower pot they will nest in it. I feed the blue jays PP Sport to keep them away from the sunflower feeder as they...

GSP found between Flasher and St. Anthony 11/28

I know a dog can slip a collar but many that I see have no collar. For $20 a collar with a brass name plate/contact info can be purchased and it is cheap insurance.

    SB 2315 / Lockout

Sen. Erble said in a public meeting in early Jan. 2020 that he would not advance or take part in a further effort with 2315. Now he is doing so. He lied. This bill, as an proposal, was defeated in a house floor vote. And they are going to bring it back again. If this concept had popular support...

    SB 2315 / Lockout

johnr's post is an example of hunter harassment and ND has a law against it. That SOB that chewed out his wife should be prosecuted ASAP. The warden made a mistake by not enforcing the law.

    SB 2315 / Lockout

As soon as sportsmen start to wiggle on their position, they are lost. Maybe, possibly, could be, might be able... you are DOA. That was the whole point of pushing the test trial in 3 counties. Wear you down, tire you out, split your unity. Less than 2% of land owners in those 3 counties signed...

Truly outstanding. I've known a number of people who didn't stick with it for more than few days and wasted the tag.

Agreed. JMO, but if the oil industry profited in ND shouldn't they also be responsible for capping the wells that gave them their profit that mostly went out of state? ND has sky-high covid infection rates with all kinds of economic consequences but those affected people are just tossed aside...

Time dilemma: Hunt now or wait

That is right. Burn the deer tag, go hunt the King. (More shots fired for hours spent) And your dogs will love you for it.

    Bergum

This current legislature has a history of over reaching. They sponsored both Measure 1 & 2. Measure #1 would expand the State Board of Education by doubling the membership with their hack appointees. Bad idea. Measure #2 would pretty much give approval powers of initiated measures to the...

We'll find out if voters were upset on Nov.3. North Dakota has had 2 stick-in-the-mud governors before Burgum who let the legislature try to grasp powers. I would give him credit for standing up for the duties of his office. And it is no problem that he contributes to campaigns as so do other...
