    Ice rod build

Wrapping the tip sucks. It usually takes me 3-5 times to get the thread to stick and ride up the guide foot right. I've switched to normal tip tops. Then I throw on some trim. For this wrap, I place rod supports as close as I can. The blank is so thin, a rubber band won't hold it tight and...

Want an ATV, but have questions?????

I'd go Honda or Polaris. Old Man has a Grizzly and it's a POS. Maybe he has a lemon, if it's colder than 20, don't count on it starting.

    Bison 6-pack

Sam Houston is overrated. They play in a cake conference with a cake (Division 2 school) non-conference schedule. This year was the Bison's toughest schedule ever in the toughest conference. JMU looks good, but they won't be ready for a semi-final riled up dome.

    Thermos

I have a Stanley that's pretty good. My coffee mug is a Contigo. That is great. There are times I fill it at 8am (20oz of hit coffee) sip it a few times, get busy andwon't take a pull till 1pm. It'll still be warm. It functions just as well for cold drinks and won't spill. We have a few...

    Inverted/pull type snow blowers

My Oldman has an old Erskine that is a pull-type and mounts on a 3-point. It does a good job. He runs it with a 966. The only limitation is, that you have to do more shoveling than with a reverse-type snow blower. I'm not at home anymore so Dad has to shovel. He bought a snowblower that...

Well this is going to get interesting

There could be a couple reasons the grass is greaner. I finished year 2 of a 5 year pipeline reclamation study. These are experiences from the study. 1. Adjacent to the pipeline may be compacted from road traffic. The pipeline trench could be less compacted or not compacted at all. 2. More...

    Which do you prefer?

It's a tie between ice fishing and boat fishing. I bought a boat and little 12ft boat so I don't have to shore fish.

    Ice rods

I use Thorne and MHX. Problem is, you pay for a Thorne blank. I just use a MHX, unless someone asks for a Thorne blank. Whatever you use, make sure the blank ks solid graphite and not hollow like a summer rod. That'll increase the durability of the rod.

    Flip over fish house accessories

Thanks for the idea. I'll be copying it this year. Is this the plastic you use? http://www.menards.com/main/building-materials/decking-deck-products/lattice/4-x-8-square-cut-plastic-lattice-panels/p-1444439140615-c-13482.htm?tid=-6996043433238925479

    Lake Winnipeg Gear

A day on Winnipeg is like a day of 12oz curls, but at the end of the day on Winnipeg you're sober. The heat shrink prevents your line from wrapping around the rear treble.

    potato wedges

Fry red potatoes. They have more sugar than a russet. This helps red potatoes to brown/crisp more.
