    Painting a rifle and scope

I'm with KW, I tend to go for the more "natural" beauty of a gun myself. Wouldn't painting a gun decrease it's book value?

    Packing Heat when fishing?

You can carry when bow hunting just not concealed. If I remember right it all came about after a bow hunter out by Watford City had a run in with a critter of the large feline persuasion, before the boom really hit. Keeping a .22 or a .410 has crossed my mind a few times when I can't seem to...

    baby boy's name

CONGRATULATIONS!!! :;:cheers I'm a little partial to Remington my self(Remmy) but that's just me. I'd stay away from Winchester(Chester) myself, don't want that stickin with a kid! Don't bind yourself to something "outdoorsy" at this point. What about family names? My wife and I had no names...

    Filet Wars

I know I can be that fast but the quality might suffer. I honestly never use a "power knife" any more, I bought a Leech Lake knife a few years ago and absolutely LOVE using it even though it slows me down. I keep it really sharp and it zips right thru the rib bones like hot butter and I can get...

    Ramp etiquette PSA!!!

I have backed trailers in several times just to help out. Most times it's a family with mom trying to back the trailer in with dad in the boat and no patience for his wife's struggles to back the trailer down. I actually taught my wife to run the boat off and on the trailer, it was easier than...

    Ramp etiquette PSA!!!

This needs to shown on a jumbo tron at every boat ramp for all the clueless idiots out there. The tubers and jet skiers spin me up the worst!!!;:;bangheadhttps://vimeo.com/67253679 Maybe we just need to start carrying shovels. https://vimeo.com/67253679

    Heading to the lake

Get the camper unhooked then grab a beer while I get it leveled and set up. If all goes well boats in the water within an hour of arrival. The wife and I have a pretty good system worked out for setting up and we can usually be done pretty quick. I just wish the tear down was as fast and easy.

    Think Safety

Picked up a first aid kit at Walmart that's about 6"×6" and about 2" deep. Fits nicely in the glove box of the boat. Also vacuum sealed a few larger supplies(gauze, tape, ace bandage) and keep that in one of the storage compartments. I think there is a heavy duty did cutter in there too for...

    Just gave cpr ...

We just covered this topic in our safety meeting this morning. The statement at the end of the video we watched was "The only mistake you can make is not doing anything". You did the best you could, that's what matters.

    Finally get to play!!!!!

Well after a busy spring and home projects this early summer we finally get to head to the lake for the weekend!! Headed over to Dry lake for a weekend with the wife's family, got the camper and boat all ready to roll out in the morning and spend some quality time with the fam. My boy is excited...

    clean shorelines on devils...

What part of the lake you headed to? Slip bobbers and jigs are a great way to deal with the flooded timber and very effective at times. There's lots of areas to cover with the good old spinners-old road beds, points, the flats on the west end, ya just need to find them. My dad and brother fish...

    What's with your name?

Wanted something different from the old site. :;:lame Used to be bigwrench, I'm a diesel mechanic at a coal mine so I work on big stuff with big tools. Guess as I've aged started to get a little light coloring in my "winter coat" that I start every Sept. and leave until spring, just seemed to fit

Any pics of your work? My PB is 8#3oz. pulled from DL back in '98. Fishing of the road on at 6 mile bay bridge as the ice was just coming off the lake. Haven't broke the 6# mark since!;:;boohoo

The Dandelion Thread (deleted - info)

I wonder if it was about some of the chems that guys were using that you need a license/registration (what ever farmers need these days) to use. That's one thing I made sure of when getting my spray, no paper work needed. IMHO, thanks Vollmer for protecting the guys on here, hate to see...

    Personal Fishing Goals

Teach my son all I know and hope he becomes a better fisherman than me. (some days he already is at 9 years old!) Take my Dad on a great fishing trip, not sure where but he's getting up in years and need to get going on a plan. Go deep sea fishing again and bad a Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Tuna and...
