I heard the rumor that the same couple bought it both times. After he won it the first time his wife decided she wanted to hunt it, so they gave it back and re-won it in her name. Probably just a rumor though.
I have the regular Spot, no experience with the Spot-X. It has worked good so far, but its pretty limited for messaging. If I had it to do over again I'd probably go with a GPS all in one.
I've got a Spot, works good for tracking your daily progress and has a "shit hit the fan" button. You can preprogram a few messages. If you want to be able to text get the Spot-X.
You could shoot the barrels out of a hundred rifles and not reduce a p-dog towns population enough to erradicate them. Even with suppressors they learn to fast to sit out and continue getting shot at.
Jesus Bruce, it sure doesn't take long for you to single out ranchers/landowners. Do you have that big a hard on for GST? He isn't even on here anymore and yet you are constantly bringing him up. There isn't anybody on here that drives a bigger wedge between hunters and landowners than you, give...
I know the feeling, same thing happened to me. I got mine early July and have about a hundred rounds through it. The full titanium version heats up faster than my 2.0 but it also cools faster. They recommend cleaning it every 50-100 rounds, which seems like a lot considering I have over a...
That's where the whole learning to adapt to what's available comes into play. Would you rather them learn that it's ok to take opportunity from others because you're unwilling to adapt?
I think the current system for 11-14 year olds is great. I also think it's important for kids to realize early on that nothing in life is guaranteed and that it is seldom fair. Those that learn to adapt and work harder than everyone else are the ones that succeed. In todays world of instant...
Since you've brought up the Dakota Country article at least 3 times now. I'd like to point out that it is an opinion piece from an author with an obvious agenda. He has no scientific data or game and fish support to back up his article. I bet if you asked Steinwand personally he would tell you...
4 days from now I will be out trying to kill a mulie with my bow,
18 days from now I will be taking my son on his first deer hunt,
24 days from now I will be climbing mountains in eastern Idaho chasing elk,
and about 46 days from now I will start trapping coyotes.
......It's gonna be a good fall
Lol, you want to talk about entitlement? Your the one that wants to take opportunity from others to better yours. Is there something stopping you from getting a bow tag?
Right now the poll has 106 votes for keeping the system the way it is, 74%. Are you saying the majority are all "entitled"?
Let's not forget.. This thread didn't get to where it is now because Davey and his family couldn't get deer rifle tags, but because Davey's family couldn't get BUCK tags.
