    SD Pheasant Hunting

Well my story is definitely different than yours. I guess I'm like you. Last yr I hunted BH for elk, WR deer, ER deer, upland in several areas including yours and waterfowl in east. I get around each year. The ONLY people that are raving over pheasant numbers and superb public holding...

Lol you don't get around the state much do you.....I hunt all around the state for many for different game and upland is one of them. I know what I know. And can bet majority of residents who hunt in different areas would agree with me because they already say the same. Your area is a...

    Favorite late season hunting pant

I've always worn the brown colored jeans with the brush buster buster fronts. If gets cold I wear long johns under. Perfect for many conditions but not wet ones. Have flirted with purchasing a quality pair. I am a neanderthal when it comes to shopping. I am also a bigger dude and can't seem...

    SD Pheasant Hunting

The bird numbers are a little better than last year but still rather low. Much of the public land is not good. It is all water or been mowed 3x. But if you look around hard enough there are areas that can be productive. However those good areas are often pressured hard. Good hunting can be...

    Why?

getting older stinks. I think I poo outside as much as I do inside. On trees, over side of boat, fence posts, bumpers, it just doesn't matter. I get the cramps and cant hold it. Most times i can sh!t through tennis racket. Always have to be careful it doesn't spray! Worst is, often after...

    How to pinpoint the "X"?

Never heard of it being so complicated. I've hunted geese hard for a looong time. I find access point to field and use my binos to pin point where they are sitting. Can use hills or bails or sloughs etc for landmarks. Drive out in morning and use head lamp to snoop around a minute to find...

    Smack Talk

I don't normally say much because have been on both sides. However one time I put every fish in the boat and we only needed 2 more. I just quietly reached down and snapped a pic of almost full livewell then sent it to my pard. Then continued fishing. In a couple minutes he open his phone...

Now we see why those Tourney Sak weights are so big

My inlaws went on a bus trip this summer to Kentucky. Story coming from local paper. I don't remember what river they said or exact details but somewhere in the Ohio/Kentucky area they held a bass tourney recently. One of the teams never left the dock. As all the other teams went and fished...

    A400 Xplor Action

I have 2 beretta extrema 2s. They are fool proof. Have put a couple thousand rounds through one of them. The other only has only couple boxes through it. Very light recoil and always performs well. I was debating trading them in for new a400 xtreme or whatever they are called. A couple...

    Watch Your Dog...

. "Dogs don't lose electrolytes the way ahuman athlete does by sweating. You may actually increase dehydration with electrolytesupplementation."Dr. Reynolds reminds trainers to follow the regime he recommends very carefully. Yep I got that from reading article. How did you not?

    Watch Your Dog...

When it's that humid out or hot...swallow your pride and leave the dogs home. If not carry water and KEEP EYE ON THEM! I've heard enough stories over the years about dogs going down. Seems like most involved someone not really paying attention. If it's humid, we need to be very observant...

    Minnesota Bear Baiting

I went with Blooming Valley outfitters a few years back. They were great guys with lots of bears in the no quota area. Price may be different now but when I went it was $1800 plus $200 for non res tag. That included lodging, food, an active stand, skinning etc. I recommend them. Check out...

    panther lift

I travel with it down and strapped so it can bounce on bumps etc. I have zerked all points that need it. I did some research and found that there are some bearings inside that may be corroded and you are supposed to fog them each winter. I have no clue how to do so.

    panther lift

My lift for my kicker motor sounds like hell. Sounds like its grinding gravel as I raise and lower it. However it works flawlessly. My local boat shop says to just keep using until it gives out then replace it. Said you probably have to replace whole lift. Wondering if anyone has had this...
