I consider myself in between a addict and fair weather caller. Get out as much as I can and do ok. I just know that i started with an old 416b. It was LOUD! Thanks for input. I'll look at externals or see if can find deal on an upgrade. They are rather spendy though.

true but not true. Wind plays a big factor in calling. I am not a newbie in coyote hunting, just newish with electronics. Calling out to 1-200 yds is one thing but reaching out to 3-500 yds is another on a breezy day.

I have a foxpro inferno. Nice little call. Have only used it a few times and have had success with it. But living in dakotas it obviously gets windy here. The inferno is great in calm conditions but it's not too often we get dead days. It seems that it may not be as loud as I prefer in breezes...

    Shots and pills

My wife works in medical field so she obviously knows more than average joe I guess. I get the flu shot every year. About 3 yrs ago I contracted influenza. Man I had bad body aches, tight chest, fever etc. It lasted about 2 1/2 days. Wife said had I not had the flu shot it would have lasted...

    scope

Good ideas...thanks! I should have been a little more clear. But I guess I wasn't clear because I am open to anything. I guess I may prefer closed caps and sfp. I will check out those listed. thanks!

    scope

Thinking of switching up my scope on my yote rifle. (22.250) Any recommendations for a scope that gathers decent light, higher magnification than average...say over 9 power? Also not an overly spendy one?

Black Bear rug open or closed mouth

I did mine closed. Looks a lot better. Wanted a nice, pretty rug not something that looked mean or aggressive. My tax man who did it said open doesn't look right. Plus, open costs more.

    Strikemaster Lithium

yeah I was planning on it. Local dealer said that my old one (white head) is still actually worth money. The yellow heads aren't. Will the K drill get you through most of the season? 24-30in ice??

    What would you do with.......

First pay off bills. Then buy as much hunting land as I could. I would donate a nice chunk to my church, donate a huge chunk to St Jude's hospital for kids, and some to other cancer research, I would donate a nice chunk to area humane societies too then just have fun. Build new house, maybe...

    Hunting dogs surprise

I have had labs for years. All good dogs. Hunt hard, friendly bird machines. Then years ago hunted with a friend that was into wirehairs/draathars. Holy hell did they hunt! I knew of them but had never hunted with one. Have often thought about getting one.

    New fishing boat Yar Craft

my old man ran a 1997 Yarcraft 1785 Bt for yrs. He sold it but said biggest mistake he made. I ran it a few times. Had a 90 johnson on it. It was a cherry. Ran smooth in any water. They are a little narrower than I prefer but cut water nicely too so the 75 should be fine unless you're one...

    Anyone seeing any roosters?

I am no expert on pheasant health but i don't think one needs to be to analyze the problem. CRP is king. With so many acres lost, many animal species is in decline. Pheasants, deer etc. Some have mentioned coyotes. Coyotes actually have little impact on pheasant populations and may actually...

    Tires

I have Dynopros on my hunting/work pickup. They are great. I just put Goodyear wranglers on my daily pickup. Light all terrain. They are only 4 ply however they have the kevlar side-walls. I really like them so far. Quiet, nice riding but will have enough traction come snow.

    Anyone seeing any roosters?

kurtr....As I said before...you really don't get out much do you? In my post I mentioned raising fishing by 25 dollars. Do you think that much of a raise is F'ing people? So much they can't 'Save' that much to come? I highly doubt it. And state $$ wise it would be huge. Say $25 times 40k...

    Anyone seeing any roosters?

I've never understood why SD doesn't jack up the price of non res pheasant licenses? We have an average of 100-120k non res coming here each year to shoot pheasants. Why don't we double their fees? Have pheasants..they will come. A higher majority of the non res guys coming-money is no...

Dog Whining in the Decoys. Solutions/Advice?

sometimes dogs like that cannot hold their excitement. Not perfect manners but you may want to just let him wonder around and burn energy...then when birds start to come in reign him back in. Definitely not ideal but sometimes worth the peace.
