    Bob Meter used to live near our home. When we went to Canada fishing he gave my dad a bunch of bucktail jigs. We caught lots of fish without bait on them.

    I believe that Bob Meter of Meter Tackle is credited with starting the bottom bouncers. At least around here. He lived in Bismarck. 1960’s or so.

    In the center of my garden there is a raised bed dedicated to growing flowers. It draws in bees and butterflies. The cukes and zucchini are producing heavily this season.

    From what I have read the bees are far and few this year. I have seen some but almost no butterflies. Last year the swallowtails were everywhere. Not sure what is up.

    The weather has been good lately for the gardens. In Bismarck people have been harvesting jalapeños the last two weeks. I have a couple of bells that are way ahead this year. Just picked four zucchini’s today with several more as soon as tomorrow. Still waiting on cucumbers but lots coming...
