    Fishing Plan This Year

They were doing it this spring. The idea is to put a bunch of cats in there to eat the bullheads.

    Fishing Plan This Year

You have no idea. We anchored one day and pulled them out like bluegill. As soon as the line got down, another one on. The kids had fun, but after about 15, I was done.

    Fishing Plan This Year

My hope is to catch more walleye than catfish. Oahe was not good last year unless you wanted to catch boatloads of catfish. I wonder how many they transferred from Oahe to Sweet Briar, hopefully hundreds.

    No more tackle

Depends where I go fishing. I'm sure I could go for a while though. I have enough supplies to tie spinners for a very long time, and boxes full of crankbaits and jigs.

    Hazelton Boat ramp

I drove by yesterday and it appeared people were getting in. I would say 6-12 trucks and trailers in the parking lot.

    A little Local History

Interesting story. Glad they got their title and you have to feel for them a little. I would be pretty pissed off if the government came knocking on my door and told to me to pack my shit because they are flooding the town.

    Hazelton Boat ramp

I like where this is going. Hopefully it comes up another 8-10 feet.

    Hazelton Boat ramp

I used Jennerville and Cattail last year. Needless to say, my boat was constantly dirty traveling on gravel all summer to put the boat in. We also went to check out the Olheiser ramp, which is the one north at the beginning of the summer. That road is just a prairie trail and the ramp needed a...

    Hazelton Boat ramp

I hope you're right, BDub. I want to be able to put my boat in at the Beaver Bay campground this year.

    Open water. Are you ready?

Still a lot of snow in front of the storage unit. That should change soon so I can at least get into it and check on the boat. I decided not to pull the batteries and keep the charger plugged in this winter. Hopefully it worked out. The plan was to check on it occasionally this winter but with...

    I HATE coyotes!!!!

Put a price on their heads and let people go after them by whatever means possible. I understand that we do need them around, but I think we could do something to reduce the numbers.

    elk/moose results are out 2023

I think I'm gonna put in for another 5 years and then go for cow tags. May as well fill the freezer since I am probably never going to draw an any tag.

What have you done with Tatonka Dust lately?

Put it on some steaks. Now that I finally joined the Pit Boss family, I have been stocking up on all kinds of seasonings and sauces. Just picked up some Kosmos Q Dirty Bird and some of that Japanese BBQ sauce yesterday to make some pheasant bites this weekend...

    elk/moose results are out 2023

The good news is I have 8 points for Antelope this year. Maybe this will be the year. I might put in for 5A or 6A this year since the odds are better in those units. I used to put in for 6A since I know people down in that area, but I have been trying for 1A the last few years. However, the odds...

    Throwback Pike

Those are some big fish. I hooked onto a big pike on Oahe a couple years back (not as big as these). My son was 7 at the time and I handed the pole to him as soon as I felt it was a heavy fish. It was like watching a deep sea fisherman reel in a yellowfin tuna. Good times! He got a catch and...
