    Small Food Plots for Deer

    - - - Updated - - - This does make me wonder. I have been thinking about starting a little apple grove, but the area is flood prone. Are apple trees slightly resilient to flooding? I don't know this for a fact Yoby, but I would think apple trees are somewhat flood resistant. Orchard Park...

    Vacation Rental By Owner VRBO

I've used it twice without any problems. But obviously you are looking for experiences of people renting out their property. Can't help you there. However, I believe you have the right to accept or deny the rental based on the information provided. But yes, I'd certainly expect problems here...

Opinion on hunting stands on Public Land

Can I use your car without permission since it's sitting on the street and you left it there overnight with the keys in it?

Well this is going to get interesting

Here's my question for those who aren't in favor of how law enforcement is handling this issue (which I know are very few on this page), so what if some person was refusing to leave his hotel room at the casino and wasn't paying for his room? Let's say he wasn't causing any issues but just...

    Wind Ap

Yoby, try the HuntStand app. It gives wind directions as well as wind predictions over the coming hours. It will show you an predicted area where your scent may go based on the direction of the wind. Scountlook is also a wind app for hunting I've used. Scoutlook. Stupid keyboard :)

    Pre-Rut Activity?

I don't hunt a very big area, but I haven't seen any scrapes or rubs yet. Usually in my spot those come in early November. However, I do have camera pictures of bucks sparring. And I've seen more bucks on camera since about Oct. 10 so they are starting to move more. And that's with quite a...

    Bowhunting Stand Question

So did you go and see anything last night then? If you don't intend on shooting the basket rack, it doesn't matter. If you got busted by a big shooter, that might be a little different.

Boat lower unit question- bad news?

You are probably right, especially given I bought it used. I just need to buck up and fork over the cash. However, gonna have to wait until spring as I am storing it in a garage where I will not have access starting in about a week.

Boat lower unit question- bad news?

Good point! I had it backwards. Laws of nature tell us that oil is lighter than water, as it usually floats on the top of the water

Boat lower unit question- bad news?

It did come out right at the end, but it seemed to be more milky instead of silver. I checked the end of the plug (magnet area) and there were no metal shavings on it. I didn't see any metal coming out either, but I suppose if they were really fine you may not see them. But again, it appears...

Boat lower unit question- bad news?

Going to order some new gasket seals and screws. Figured I would try to replace those first. I read that a good idea is to replace those first and then run it a couple times and then check the oil. If its milky again, then you likely have to look into replacing seals and stuff. I'll leave it...

Boat lower unit question- bad news?

By "paper gaskets" do you mean the little washers that are on the plugs? - - - Updated - - - Guy I bought it from claims he always wimterized and changed gear oil. But you know how that goes.... No idea when it's last been done.

Boat lower unit question- bad news?

First time boat owner. Changed lower gear lube tonight. I read that milky gear oil is bad news. So how much "milkiness" is too much? To me there wasn't that much. Most of it was black except right at the end. Bought the boat used this summer. Check out the pics and let me know if you...

    Muck Boots

Good to know. I too have a wide foot. Like I said, one of the things I really liked about the Alphaburly's was the more room in the calf area. The Muck's are a bit tight on my calf. But, I could learn to live with that if they are more comfortable otherwise.

    Muck Boots

Ok. Looking more for a hunting/camo type boot that I can wear in the stand that keeps feet warm(ish). I have a pair of Sorels I use for winter that are rated to -100. I'd like to be able to wear them when its 50, but also when its 10 above.

    Muck Boots

Dirty, Did you ever get those Lacrosse Alphaburly boots? I never did buy the mucks like I was planning, so now this fall I am buying for sure. Just tried on those Alphaburlys today. I like the bigger calf opening. Are they as warm as the Muck Artic pro? Comfort wise they seemed about the...

best bowhunting gloves oct. to early nov.

x2. I do have a thin pair of gloves I will wear on the way to the stand, but using a pouch/handwarmer that you wrap around your waist with handwarmers is what I've found to be the best.
