What will you focus on this open water season?

This. Unfortunately for me, it often ends poorly, but when it goes well it feels damn good.

Muskies to be Stocked in Pelican Lake after Judge Rejects Temporary Restraining Order

Sure, if each county wants to employ a team of educated fisheries biologists. Otherwise, they can suck it.

Anybody with some last tips? On my way to the lake for a few days, never fished it through the ice. Hope to have a little luck or manufacture some of my own.

    Devils Lake Ice Fishing

What is travel like on the lakes currently? A few buddies and myself are planning to make a trip up beginning of next week (Mar 12-14) and wondering if we can get around with UTV (wheels) or we should be getting sleds ready to go. Appreciate any input guys.

    Porcupine Bay access?

I'm not sure that access point is 100% legal. If it's the access south of the bridge that I think is being referred to. In other words Sum, it's not on a section line or immediately off of the public roadway. I could be wrong.

    Lake Oahe Pollock SD

For pike you can use either the cleithra (a jaw bone) or an otolith. Both mean killing the fish.

Back injury--any advice or share experience?

They are not the same. One is based in Chinese medicine and something with chi and meridians and the other is a western medicine philosophy that works on myofascial pain and neurophysiology.

    Marathons

If you have 30 weeks, take some time to get yourself a good base of running, something like 5-6 miles. For a first timer a 15 week training plan might be a better idea for you. Hal Higdon has a lot of free training plans online. Decide if you want to run it in entirety or do a run-walk plan. I...

Fly rod fishing - trout/salmon - Gear recommendations

Check out Redington fly gear. They have a good range of prices on their rods. Does sound like a 5 wt rod will be what you're looking to fish the majority of the time, although depending on the size of the fish you'll regularly catch I wouldn't be afraid to go 4 wt. If you plan to fish a lot...

    What's everyone wear for waders?

Careful fishing in those boots outside of ND, there are quite a few states outlawing the use of felt soled boots. I believe SD is one of them. MT is trying.

    Deer with a growth?

It's a papilloma. Shoot the deer, trim it away, consume. Check out the NDGF website Wildlife Diseases (I can't get the link to save and be able to post)

    Knee surgery coming up!

Which surgery you have will depend a lot on what they find with the scope. The meniscus of the knee does not receive great blood flow and therefore doesn't always heal incredibly well, especially the innermost portions of the meniscus. Obviously the longer you have more meniscus the more...

Success and great memories made in Utah this past week.

I know the name game of some of those units all to well. Every year I have to check and recheck to be sure I'm clicking the right unit for elk and the right unit for mule deer. Some of that country in southern UT is incredible. Glad you guys found a respectable bull and had a great time doing it!
