    Custom Ice rods

Silicone tape - it sticks only to itself so won't damage the cork handles and is warm on the hand. It can be found pretty cheap at hardware stores or online. Don't buy the ice fishing marketed stuff like Clam Pro Wrap. It is the same thing with a larger price tag.

    Pop-up vs Flip Style

The otter bags are oversized so they are not a pain in the ass to get back in the bag. I like a flip over if it is more run and gun. I don't tend to set the pop up until I find fish and find myself fishing outside much more. I'll drag the flip over sled behind the ATV or its quick to pull out of...

    tipup alternatives...

Ifish Pro is another alternative but they are expensive. I've resorted to using HT Enterprise Lift N Hook rod holder and a slip bobber as they are cheap and take up very little space. The one downside is that there is no flag for bite indication.

    keeping garage floor dry

I have an insulated garage and heated with no floor drain. I run a dehumidifier which I feel does more than a fan. I will empty out close to a gallon of water a day after it snows and two vehicles in the garage. Buy a floor squeegee to push out the snow and water from time to time as well. Those...

    Garage Design

I would have the lower 4 ft of the walls a waterproof/resistant panel to wash down lots of electrical outlets with some in the ceiling too between stalls. lot of lighting transom windows to allow for natural lighting but high enough so people can't see what is inside

    frontal shots

The frontal shot is most certainly an extremely deadly shot. It is a small target and not much room for error. As shown above, you have full access to the vitals. I would take that shot in certain circumstances. You need to be confident in your shooting abilities and where to aim. I would only...

    Badlands mule deer

I tend to think it is more the modern day attitude of people just not taking the time investment versus a person thinking modern equipment doesn't require practice.

    Ranger ice auger mount

The one thing I wish the Digger auger carriers had was a second clamp for the flighting side, especially for rough ice and with an extension on. I may need to browse Mcmaster Carr to rig something up and replace those F'ing bungee cords.

    temps for hanging deer

It would be fine at those temps for a day. I personally would quarter it to let the meat cool down quicker if that is an option but it will be fine either way. Many people go on extended hunts where the game is hung for days at those conditions.

    New 10x42 Binos time

Vortex warranty is awesome, but the worst part regarding it is the number of people that need to us the warranty.

    New 10x42 Binos time

I bought my wife the Maven C1's and have been extremely impressed with them. I would add them to your list as well and certainly below your $600 price.

    Alaska Vacation Ideas

I've been to Alaska a few times. For fishing, I recommend fishing with J-Dock out of Seward for halibut, rock, and ling cod. We didn't get any huge halibut but the boat limited out on all three species and they busted ass to get us our fish. Seward also has tours to get you back in towards...

    Spotting Scopes

I had a 10 year old Cabelas Euro (Meopta) that broke last summer. I replaced it with a 85mm angled Vortex Razor and was immediately disappointed with the razor. I though my dirty 10 year old Meopta was just as good or better then the brand new Razor. I replaced the Razor with a used Swaro ATM...

    Winnipeg 2018

I got by with a 12" extension last weekend. It was very close in a few spots. I also had a 18" spare in case I needed it. I recommend bringing a second extension in case it is needed.
