    There is a good YouTube side by side comparison of all three set next to each other. Just watched recently Garmin got the edge for clarity, Lowrance for picking things off the bottom. If I can find again, I'll post.

    Yep, buddy had the 5.3, took a shit on him with the shut down cylinder issue. $7 k to repair, asked About doing the other side right away. Shop said should be good. 380 miles later the other side went. Shop fessed up and only charged 1/2 price for doing other side. Truck went down the road...

    If it originally lasted 20+ yrs, I would just let it be natural. Can always either Thompson water seal or clear coat (if 100% dried out) 4-5 yrs down the road "if" needed.

    The drotto's are pretty nice when you "finally" get them adjusted properly. I have gone up over the top of mine before, not a fun situation. Thank god I had a 2x4 in back of truck to help pry it up and back over.

    Big thing with using tap or rural water is get it the same temp as what they are swimming in at the time. Temp shock is the biggest killer. I keep a gallon jug of water in the beer fridge the minnows are in, swap water about every 5 days depending how many minnows in container. Aqua drops help...

    If he is a fan of guns/hunting, see if he has interest in reloading. Some kids love doing wood burning art. Some nice starter kits out there.

    Mine will stare, after a few seconds when I stare back, she just rolls her eyes to the side slightly and won't look me in the eye again until I speak to her. Comical as hell, makes me laugh all the time.

    Rotate every 6k miles with oil change. Front end alignment religiously. Heavy 3/4 diesel, don't know??? Not sure if I should have put a blanket on them at night or not. Glad worked for you. They were only about 40k on my 1/2 ton, and my 2 work trucks also.

    If you like the BFG KO, foolish if you don't switch to General Grabber AT. Same tread design, better tire. At least I could get some mileage out of them. BF were junk at 30K
