    I had lots of end blossom rot when I used aerial watering, went to soaker hose and eliminated it. FYI, my upside down potato seed are 15/20 sprouted, I assume I will lose some growth or yield from my f' up, live and learn.

    I started a strawberry bed last year. Didn't know they should have been covered with straw for the winter but they survived. Wonder if I clip runners and put them in the river bed if they will take off? My raspberries don't seem to have faired so well.

    I see a few poking through, cut side was up on all, depth 7-8", I will hill a bit. Plan for next year, still 8" deep, but only cover to 4" additionally and then bring to grade and eventually hill. And cut side down next year.

    I plan on hilling mine this year. Last year I tried placing wooden squares around the plants as they grew. Made 16" - 2x4 squares and added soil as the plant grew. I killed a few by burying too much, or perhaps the black dirt/sun cooked them. Either way the yield was dismal, not going to do...

    I live on a tiny river, and see other shrooms but not morels. Is there a way to make them happen? also is it look for morels when lilacs bud? or bloom? Side note, only one tick so far this year while on beaver patrol, but 3 tree killers became fertilizer. I assume the cool weather is at play...
