    Much below temps the next two weeks. Hopefully it will mellow out a bit before Memorial Day. Early June works for annual plants. Flowers and vegetables. So much for a nice spring.

    I too have been working on the garden just getting it ready. Potatoes and onions are planted. I got all the rows tilled today. Tomorrow the raised beds get prepped.     Pellet gun?

    I have a Gamo break barrel and it is as described by Snow. Not consistently accurate at all. I have shot many rabbits with it but it seems to be a wear issue now. I like the 22 with the sub sonic bullets. However they are way more dangerous as they fly much further.

    Weather

    The worst of the weather looks to be in north central ND. Snowing in Bismarck now. Luckily I managed to plant potatoes yesterday and put the Preen down before the weeds go crazy. I really enjoy nice spring days. All five of them anyway.

    A variety called Homemade Pickles has been the run away favorite cucumber for pickling in the NDSU garden trials. They are smaller than Straight Eights and more disease resistant. I suck at growing cucumbers.

    My dad is pretty good at Making pickles. So my wife decides to follow his instructions....Except she used week old cukes and then canned them. They would have gagged a maggot. One bite and the pickles ended in the garbage.
