How many of you would still bowhunt if you could not bait?

You know, for reference purposes. I just want to be able to avoid them if I can....

The Deep Philosophical Question of the Day

Fencing clips. When putting up barbed wire fence, do the fencing clips get wrapped around up from the bottom of the wire or down from the top of the wire? Discuss. - - - Updated - - - By the way, it's down from the top you Godless heathens. If you do it the other way you're wrong and I will...

How many of you would still bowhunt if you could not bait?

I don't bait now. Nothing would change for me.

    Direct Payments to farmers/ranchers

I'm not defending farmers/ranchers/landowners that willfully made poor choices. But a single family operation is just like any other small business and a freaking TON of small businesses fail all the time. Most within the first few years of start up but they don't get judged as the farmer does...

    Direct Payments to farmers/ranchers

I have a friend out by Glen Ullin that had to sell his entire beef herd. His pastures were dry, his wells were losing pressure, his hay land wasn't amounting to shit so he knew he wouldn't have winter feed either. I don't know it there is a conservative minded approach that lets him get by.

    Bow Talk

Make sure you guys practice with your broad heads. They will almost certainly not fly the same as your practice points, especially when you start pushing past that that 300fps mark. I have scoured the internet and this link has the easiest instructions I have seen on simple broad head tuning...

    Bow Talk

Speed is sexy but it's not the most important thing. It's only one part of the KE equation. If I have to choose between speed or more down range KE, I'll opt for the heavier arrow. But if you can get your 400+ grain arrow to cruise at 350fps, that's pretty nice.

    Deer tag system changes

Trying to make everyone happy is a fools errand. Their job should be to manage the resource. Not our happiness. There are only so many deer to go around.

    Dicamba Drift?

Unfortunately, just about all the growth regulator chemicals (dicamba, 2,4-d, MCPE/A, clopyralid, fluroxypyr, etc.) are all prone to drift and inversion. I toured the Dow plant a few years ago in Indiana a few years ago and saw some of the new technology in 2,4-D/Glyphosate compound. If I...

    Dicamba Drift?

You're right. You didn't. My bad. Anyway, depending on the amount of drift, plants that have been affected by dicamba, 2,4-D etc. have cupping and puckering of the leaves. It's pretty distinct. - - - Updated - - - My guess would be glyphosate (roundup) from what you are describing.

    Dicamba Drift?

I would need close ups of the leaf damage to know for certain but usually herbicides in the growth regulator group don't turn the plants red/yellow. Plateau is the only one I can think of right off hand that'll give those characteristics in some plants. Tordon might too but if I remember right...

    Best O/U for the money

They carry so much better in the field. The fit and balance on a good O/U is better too I think. Shooting just feels more natural which translates into more birds.

    Best O/U for the money

Well, someone else bought it so it's not available anymore. I'd accept a 20 too. Just like the idea of a 16.

    Best O/U for the money

I have a 20g Field Grade Citori on loan from my father in law that my son and daughter will eventually use. It is a dream to carry upland hunting. 3" 6s are almost unfair for pheasants. When I have to give the gun up, I just can't see myself bringing the Versamax out of the blind or the 870 out...

    Best O/U for the money

I was at Scheels in Bismarck the other day and they had a killer deal on a mid grade Citori in 16 gauge. I left really considering it, went back with half intentions of buying it and am now kicking myself for not scooping it up. In any case, it was probably still too expensive but I really love...
