A DL guide told me this year that he would've had to special order his line counters to left hand reel and that they can't be switched like a spinning reel. I don't use baitcasters, ever, so it was news to me.
I prefer the DH Custom Baits UPF shirts over my HUK every day.... and that's not some sort of BS plug because I caught my PB walleye fishing a snooty a snooty rippin rap. I like the looser, lightweight fit of them.
All good @remm! I wouldn't say the wrong choice of words and I'll contradict even myself and say I would not want to fish tournaments for a living. Like most on here, I love to fish for me and my son enjoys it too. Grab some gopros and throw some youtube videos out there... seems like a more...
Disagree, but respectfully.... every individual has the right to work where they want and how they want. If a fishing tournament is their source of income, that's their decision.... The American Dream.... cheating and dishonesty happens in every job but none of us should be able to tell another...
I am very similar to you @Vollmer. Grew up casting dare devils and fishing smelt under a bobber for pike. Never had a boat growing up. Really didn't fish more than a couple of times from the age of 17-30. For some reason I started by pitching jigs and was instantly hooked. Got a boat started...
I drink about 3 cokes a year even if they are mixed.
A Knob Creek/Sprite 50/50 mix is the perfect drink for me any night of the week.
For special occasions, I'll go with a Blantons, Weller 12, Eagle Rare, or something of that nature, neat of course.
I never ice fished for perch one time last year because I was on such great walleye bites.... I hope to change that a little this year. The perch fishing, not the walleye bite ;)
When I got back into fishing about 8 years ago I tried a lot of budget lures. When it comes to crank baits, I'm a believer that the cheapest is far from the best. I've outfished the cheaper ones 5-1 with a flickershad or flickerminnow.
I also caught my PB walleye thanks to a DH Custom Bait'd...
I used to run the weather channel until I discovered how shitty their wind predictions are in both daily and hour to hour. Switched to the weatherbug and it's been pretty good.
Downloaded windy this morning and played with it, very impressed!
Couldn't be happier about the warmer temps myself and how they've solidified the loose snow. I commute 50+ miles to work and it's been hell since Christmas.
