    RIP fellow NDAer

Just saw the word that our own arrowdem (Allan Sitzer) has passed away. I don't know the details but he was a young man and hunting fool taken way before his time. RIP sir. Heart goes out to all his family. :(

    2017 Deer Lottery

My hunch is that G&F is taking longer to scrutinize legitimate gratis tags. When tags were dime a dozen they probably didn't worry too much about it. Now with deer tags worth more than North Dakota crude, well, I guess I'm alright with them taking their time.

Someone tried to run a Tyvee over the Red River rapids...

I was being 100 percent sarcastic. Clearly, that boat hit the rocks. Prop and skeg are all messed up. Probably got too close, hit the rocks, and poof. I give myself a very healthy berth whenever fishing close to dams. No fish is worth that.

    Ice Fishing Gadgets

Look on Craiglist and buy it all gently used. Guys are purging their entire ice fishing arsenal all the time. You can get some great gear for peanuts.

    Goose Nirvana

Gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. Duck legs may be the best thing next to fried walleye. You done good, sir.

    Goose Nirvana

Ha!! I'll admit, the comically large bone handle was fun AND functional. Kid loved it especially. He said he was a puppy and gnawed on it after. Truth be told, so did I -- it was that damn good.

    Goose Nirvana

I think bone-in is the ticket. Next time I'm sawing them off where the meat ends, though. The long "handle" was fun, but way more than necessary. Plus They took up valuable space in the pot.

    Goose Nirvana

Thanks for reminding me of this! I was just looking at a big bag of goose legs and wondering how I wanted to cook them. Can't wait to bust this out. Mouth is watering already....

    Teriyaki Pheasant Sandwich

I shot a whopping three pheasants last year. They were eaten before I could even think about experimenting with recipes. But this....this looks worthy of trying out. As always, thanks MossyMo! - - - Updated - - - Also, what is that contraption that you're cooking it on? Looks like a...

    Deer fawns

Folks bought a cabin south of Walker, MN this spring. Lately, we see a dozen does every time we go up there, and they all have at least one fawn. Several twins and one doe has triplets. Kind of reminds me of ND's glory days... :(

    ND Deer Rifle License!!!

HA! You'd bet wrong, my friend. Never touched the Mean Weed. But you're a funny man, and I still got a good chuckle.

    Detroit Lakes fishing

I honestly quit targeting walleye in Minnesota past the second or third week of June. Right now they're just getting over a huge mayfly hatch in the DL/OT area, but there may be some willing biters. I think most people search deep, but I've heard you can have pretty good luck trolling in about...

    ND Deer Rifle License!!!

I got one!!! Last night...in a dream. Spurred by a bowl of ice cream and a Blue Num Num chaser. Incidentally, I also found $10K hidden in a mattress and got an impromptu lap dance from Brooke Burke circa 2005. Sigh, it was a good dream. :;:smokin

    There off

Build it and they will come! Honestly DB, if you and your son are serious about this, get ahold of your local PF chapter. They have a TON of info on creating good phez habitat for all four seasons. Might increase the survivability of your broodlings.

    Devil's suggestions?

I expect full reports from you guys on the hot bite!! That way I can plan my trip and miss it by at least a day.

    Another monster Muskie~

Well there went my theory! Figured she was a smart one who knew where easy pickins came from. Turns out she was a smart warhorse who just never felt the need to chase a bucktail. - - - Updated - - - I blame musky and northern for nothing. I think they're cool buggers. Just can't figure out...
