    Snow Totals

That much wet heavy snow is hell on pheasants. I remember a few years ago when that freak blizzard hit SW the week before pheasant opener. All the cover was flat and there were dead pheasants everywhere. The ones that lived went into what was left of the standing corn/flowers. It was a major Bummer!

Hell of a year for giant muleys.

There are an ass ton of does and fawns out there right now from what I've seen. I'm not surprised they would open up the doe tags a bit more, hopefully they don't go crazy though.

    Toby from Fishingbuddy

Now if only RiverFibber, Lunker, GST would come back and make amends we could all sit around and sing Kumbaya.

    Anyone seeing any roosters?

The CRP would be better than your sweet clover scenario above. The land i hunt is mostly CRP with some slough areas and then a few small fields that rotate between flowers, wheat etc. We shot 21 birds Saturday and saw over 100 and this isn't a giant chunk of land. Yes there was no hatch last...

    Anyone seeing any roosters?

If only there was a season on hawks and owls.

    Tires

Yes and they also have a deeper tread, but are also heavier which is what kills your gas mileage and they are a rougher ride. IMO 10 ply is overkill for most peoples needs with a 1/2 ton, but with most AT tires you only have a choice of P-4ply and LT E-10ply. The LT tires also tend to be a...

    Anyone seeing any roosters?

21 was our limit. To be fair it looks like people that actually went out are reporting better than expected numbers. Its the people driving around before season who were reporting not seeing much. The numbers are definitely down overall, but better than last year. There are pockets of good birds...

    Anyone seeing any roosters?

We did alright, Got our 21 birds by early afternoon SW. There were a few more birds than expected and we saw a ton of hens which is good. Hopefully we can get another mild winter and good spring hatch and i think we will be back to half way decent numbers. On our way home we saw at least 10-15...

    Tires

What don't you like about the Toyo's? I've kind of narrowed my search to them because they seem to get good reviews and i can get a C-rated 6 ply in my size rather than a E-10ply. What rating is on the work trucks, P-rated? I had coopers at the top of my list but i keep reading a lot of mixed...

Woman looses eye at Ryder Cup

Considering her response, I was just surprised when i read that she wasn't an American Dem.

    Perfect antelope weather??

There are a lot of big dumb antelope right now. Last weekend driving around the badlands, i couldn't help but think how damn easy it would be to get one with a rifle. The curious bastards would walk toward your vehicle when you stopped to glass them.

    Vegas/Arizona vacation

^Yep a Knights game would probably be great for the fam. I had a couple buddies last year that have always been anti-hockey people, They were NDSU Grads so didn't know any better:cool: Anyways , They ended up going to a Knights game and loved it, by the end of the year they were watching hockey...

Blue platers on the rise crossing the border

Thankfully the number of back trollers seems to have dwindled in recent years. I'm not sure if its the advancement in bow mount electrics or if they all finally succumbed to years of breathing engine fumes.

Dirt bags are at it already

These are they guys they need to throw the book at. It says they found 26 instances of guiding. If they were each $1,000 that makes 26k in profit. His fine should be at least double that. Oh and loss of Hunting/fishing for life in ND.

    Anyone seeing any roosters?

It’s going to be tough SW. I think I’m just going to sleep in and hit the coulees of NW Bismarck, plenty of unpressured birds there

can someone explain the logic behind this

I don't know, our license fees seem pretty damn cheap to me. The license fees themselves are literally the cheapest part of hunting. Even one tank of gas to actually go hunting is more expensive. I fish/hunt year around in this state for $125. That includes Combo license, deer bow, rifle...

    Breathable waders-HELP

I have the Rio Gallegos because i got the last model on sale for 50%. I do like the convertible suspenders vs the Simms. I have only put about 20 days in them so i cant say to much for durability at this point although i have beat some pretty serious brush with them. If i was paying full price...

    Breathable waders-HELP

I guess i was comparing the stocking foot, your right the boot foot Simms are $800. Still id buy the stocking foot Simms and a pair of Korkers boots with interchangeable soles. Way more versatile and still cheaper than the Sitka.
