    Nanoplastics in water bottles

Lunk, The big difference between plastic water bottles and plastic water pipes is that after the initial flush, a plastic pipe would be expected to not continue to generate micro/nano plastic particles in the water. The water bottles though are a one-time use and they aren't rinsed before...

    Electric Vehicles

I too have often wondered why the car makers and/or regulators didn't start out the whole EV thing with a standardized battery pack and connections. Then I looked and saw that the batteries weigh between 500 and 2900 lbs (that heavy one is in the Hummer H3), so a "standardized" battery pack...

    Nanoplastics in water bottles

Note, the deionized water system I used at a research grade laboratory reached 18.9 mega-ohms of resistance. That system required distilled water as a source and still cost over $2k back in 1998. I would get about 50 gallons of deionized water before I changed the just under $400 filters.

    Nanoplastics in water bottles

I have seen those commercials with the TDS meters, and just cringed. To get to deionized water, you need to use something that can measure electrical resistance. You need to be something north of 18 mega-ohm of resistance to claim the water is deionized. That's not easy to do, and I am...

    Home gun sales law

Do we hear of propellants (not explosives) randomly blowing up and killing a neighboring child? Some might argue the presence of a natural gas line is a much more common threat in life. Maybe we should ban the use of NG like California and go to all electric?

Sak, it's been a good run!

I "thought" the river looked slower and somewhat more viscous than normal above the upstream edge of the ice. Maybe it was just slushier. Our drop to such chilly temps was maybe quicker than normal, plus discharge out of Garrison's temperature would be closer to freezing temps than early...

    Vintage sled heads

Most people I knew had John Deere sleds back in the 70s and 80s. They were great machines.

You are more than welcome. Interestingly, since the flood of 2011, the current rise in the river of only ~2.8 ft is by far the smallest. The average is something over 5 ft with a range of 4.9 - 6.9 ft. I am not sure why this year it was so little but it's kind of fun to watch in real time if...

    Nanoplastics in water bottles

When I lived in Grand Forks, I had an under the counter water filter to remove the eye-stinging level of chlorine they use over there to treat their water. It worked too well, within a few months the line going to the sink with the chlorine removed was covered on the inside with a nice pink...

    Property Tax Credit

Define "small". I know an awful lot of landowners who do own at least a fraction of the minerals under their surface acres, others own minerals under their neighbor's land. Have things gotten complicated with mineral ownership through the years? Yep, they sure have. The bottom line though is...

Are you talking about watching a football game on Amazon Prime? If so, I just wait an hour, or so, after it starts and then start watching. It gives me the opportunity to start from the beginning, which then allows me to FFWD through the commercials. I think I have only done it once, but...

A goodly share of that pot was paid for by North Dakota resident landowners who receive royalties. Remember, only two out of the 36 sections in a township are school sections.
