    Battery Lawn Mower

Don't own one, but have been sniffing around the edges for a couple of years. I want one, but the Toro I have continues to be a decent mower. I mowed on saturday, and it started on the second pull. My brother has an EGO mower, and loves it. I'm leaning that direction. I have had DeWalt...

So, If gas hits 5 a gal this summer...

He has several, and has told me that this is his nicest restoration. It was north of $100K. I actually put it on the trailer, as my pal had had a few beers to settle his nerves. Beautiful car, and runs like it was just out of the factory. 1971 was the last year of the 429 Big Block.

So, If gas hits 5 a gal this summer...

Buddy of mine just took delivery on a 1971 Mach 1 SCJ with the 429 last week. Gorgeous car.

What the hell is this thing??

Ha! I thought the same exact thing!

    We are free, finally free.....

We are debt-free, other than our mortgage. No credit cards, no vehicle payments. Still have a ways to go on the house, but we'll get there one day. Talking with a friend the other day, with a much-nicer-than-mine pickup. Mine is a 8 yr old Chevy half-ton. Perfectly fine pickup. He still...

    Just moved in

Welcome Grant. Hope you have thick skin. We're a bunch of jaded, sarcastic, pent-up bastards. Srsly, good luck this spring! Jaykay

What was your favorite Oscars moment?

And this post ends the entire thread. Crickets. LOL. Pretty much anybody who scrolled this far went "whoa!" and decided to go do something else.

What was your favorite Oscars moment?

Didn't watch it. Haven't watched for years. Don't hate it, just don't care. I did watch the video of Will Smith smacking Chris Rock across the face. I can see both sides. When you're a "star", you are a public person. You don't get to fawn and roll around in the love, and then lash out...

What makes you want to puke.

Most social media. Regarding sympathetic puking, that's not me. I can be right there, and laughing. Doesn't bother me a bit.

    Finally getting nice out

In case I forgot how to catch fish, at least I can have SOME fun this spring.

    Something New for The Tailrace?...

Now here is the reason I consider you a genius. I never thought of that. I know what I'm buying this afternoon. One thing though, flukes dive faster, so the gulls have less time to pick it up. I don't enjoy flying kites in the tailrace. Neither the bird, nor I, enjoy what happens next.

    Something New for The Tailrace?...

I just use fluke with a jig head. heavy enough to sink, light enough to not sink fast. When the bite is on, if you feel something, it's a fish. If you get snagged, it's a rock. Easy peasy. Also, unlike crawlers, plastic flukes - they do not die.

    Something New for The Tailrace?...

SEVEN!! Are you kidding me? I used to use cranks non-stop in the tailrace. Now I'm about 50/50 with fluke. I know guys who don't use anything but white or white/grey flukes. They're "cheap" and look like smelt. Still lose them, but a lot less painful than even a $8 crank. Now, I admit...

Wow. Shore fishing is looking better and better all the time.

    What are you SHTF plans?

Spend the time with my family. Get right with God. His will be done. I think a lot of people would eat a bullet - which is too bad. Honestly, I spent some time thinking about this as a teen in the 80's, with Big Bad Russia looming on the horizon. I've read a lot about a nuclear war. I...

    Cost of owning stuff

Man, is this ever the truth. I punch myself in the face, because it feels so good when I stop. Regarding gas prices, they always have said that nothing gets as good of mileage, as the vehicle you already own. Buying some new, more efficient car, to save money, is nothing more than a feel-good...

    The End?

True, we're way off topic on this one, but hey! Whatever. I write with my left hand, do everything else right-handed. I cast with my right, switch to my left while the line is going out (lure in the air), close bail with my right, retrieve (crank) with my right. Rod is now in my left hand...

    The End?

Nearly all baitcasters have the handle on the right-hand side too. Not sure when so many people decided they have to have the handle on the wrong side.

    The End?

Haha, not so much an analogy - more of an attempt at some humor. I hold the rod in my left hand, and reel with my right. Everybody who does it the other way is wrong. I think it's in the bible. Book of James (Kemp).

    The End?

Yup PrairieGhost, you hit the nail on the head. There are lots of churches to choose from. Many people profess to be Christians, yet not need a church. I don't believe you HAVE to go to the building, in which church is held, to know God. But I do believe that being with like-minded...
