    Invasion of...

My boy boards two Llamas or Alpacas not sure which but the owner works and trains them a lot to keep them in shape them to Elk hunt. Those two are well mannered and happy to come running to meet anyone who walks up to the fence.

    Woolly Bear caterpillar

Wife saw one that was roughly 1/3 brown. We have Tons of acorns and wasp nests are low this year. If the old timers were still around they would be saying we are going to have a cold winter with just enough snow to hook up the bobsled and cutter. I saw two hornet nests so...

    Invasion of...

The only critter I couldn't chase out of the yard was a Llama , I tried with the golf cart and he would just side step me so I grabbed the B International that turns on a dime and we went around and around in one spot for a while with laid his ears back and he looked like he was ready to attack...

    Warm weather dear hunting

I've put a window air conditioner in the garage and made a makeshift walk in cooler out of 1'' Styrofoam sheets and a tarp. It worked ok but now that I have more time I only harvest when its cool enough.

    Garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried Brandywine tomatoes for the first time and I'm hooked. They grow big and are sweet with less acid than normal so I can eat them like they are going out of style and not get a canker sore. They are so lean that I had to add a little water to make salsa.

    Bog fire?

How far from the water ? I'd soak it good first and see if that does the trick , even if you plan on pushing it in you could still miss a hot spot and it would smolder all winter.

    Satellite trains

It was cool the way the Northern lights were dancing in the background, My first time seeing one but I'd read about them and knew right away what I was watching. I looked at a couple websites and realized just how many are up there now days, plus a bunch of other space junk from years gone...

    Satellite trains

Walked outside and looked up and saw a long string of lights traveling east , I watched it for a good 30 seconds before it was gone. It raised the question, is there a website site where you can track these , the same as you can ships and barges ?

There was ice on neighbors windshield this morning and small ponds are loading up with ducks. Hummingbirds, Orioles and Purple martins are gone.

    Garden!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you guys are enjoying a bountiful harvest. I took over most of the processing end of the garden and we hate to see anything go to waste. Our family's favorite home made snack has been jerky and roasted pumpkin seeds and wife put a LOT of time into those every year. I found a...

    Strange Steak Cooking

Just for the fun of it I tried to set a record for the fastest steak I'd ever grilled. I set it on a hot weber grill and used a bertha torch on the top side and flipped it over half ways through . It had a mouth watering crispy outside but it was tougher than Lisa's pancakes on green acres.

    Get More Boobies With Biltong

Solar dehydrators work so good this time of the year but jack frost and his cold days come about the same time deer season , I know sun dried jerky would be delicious and easy to make in big batches. I crave jerky right now so bad my mouth is watering but all I have is leather britches AKA...

    Get More Boobies With Biltong

That was a good Video, has anyone tried this ? It left me wondering what kind of dried /salted meat that Mom and Dad used to make when I was a baby. It might have been mutton or venison because I remember seeing full front and hind quarters hanging and they weren't that big. Other...

    When you see someone...

Nope, we quickly tried to put them back in place so they quit hurting. Lol Iv'e had to do it to my "this little piggy stayed home" toe and my "this piggy had none" toe but not on the rigs . I kept my fingers out of the wrong places but I did pick a guys finger up off the muddy floor and wash...

    When you see someone...

LOL, I still have both arms, both legs, 10 fingers and 10 toes. Only a couple scars but I too lost a front tooth from the oilfield. A chain whacked me upside the head on a rig move and the last false tooth I had is on the bottom of Lake Metigoshe thanks to horseplay on a pontoon when I...

    How to Spool New Line

When was a kid my dad used to tie a swivel on the "dumb" end of the line and hand it to me and tell me to,run out line to the high line pole, then he would reel me back in and I was suppose to hold resistance. ( but never without a good fight and acting like a fish.) I did it with my kids...
