    My pillow

Chunk that scrap even further, find some cheap XXL pillow cases, and sell them for $100 a pop as luxury dog beds. You're welcome. - - - Updated - - - Christ. That was simultaneous with my post.

    Ideal Deadstick Rod

Ahab said his "deadstick rod now consists of an ice buster bobber with my second sonar in the hole." My comment eluded to the way his sentence could be misconstrued as his dead stick actually having an ice buster bobber AND sonar on one line. Because of the way he structured the sentence.

That must be a ginormous bobber. Transducers are damn heavy.

Yeesh! What's that, like $500 down the pooper??

    Ideal Deadstick Rod

Interesting you mention Powerpro. Do you prefer braid over mono for your dead stick rods? If so, why?

    Ideal Deadstick Rod

Unfortunately, I am not in the market for a custom dead stick rod. Otherwise I'd definitely consider one from Thorne Bros. or the likes. (On a related note, Scheels in Fargo now carries TUCR ice rods. It was nice to pick them up after seeing so many good reviews. Bit too rich for my blood...

    Ice Rod Storage

Same here. As much as I'd love to be able to take all my rods in one box, it's just easier to keep four in a pack. Less tangles. Less headache. Then I have them split between my walleye rods and panfish rods. So if I'm only targeting one, I can leave half my arsenal in the truck.

    Humminbird helix ice 5

What BFishn said. I got Helix 5 DI with Navionics+ for a steal from Cabela's. $309.99 shipped. Didn't even realize I could use it ice fishing until after it was on its way. So for about $100 more, I can get the ducer and power cable and be ready to rock this ice season.

    Humminbird helix ice 5

By deep water, how deep do you mean? I rarely fish deeper than 25 feet in the winter.

    Humminbird helix ice 5

I picked up the Helix 5 open water model and was wondering what it all takes to convert it to ice duty. Might even sell my Marcum if I like it enough. I imagine I'll need an ice ducer and some power cord to connect it to a battery. I've seen where folks rig up a carry system using those...

    Give your pups a hug

The update is he and slick Blitz get to spend a couple weeks as office guard dogs. Should only take 10-14 days to fully heal. Sounds like roosters still have a reason to shake in their spurs!

You just perfectly described almost every ice fishing trip I've ever had on a North Dakota lake. Bravo.

    NDA Reps in Regions

I do think it would be fun to have regional NDA clubs that are pretty low key and informal. Something along the lines of "Hey guys! Thinking of hitting Ashtabula on Saturday. Bringing No. 1 son, a bucket of minnows and plenty of Blue Num Nums. Anyone who wants to join, feel free!" I'd be down...

Man I'll have to ruminate. Life at the moment is socially barren. Plus, I'm pretty sure my 3-year-old has better organizational skills. Can I nominate him?
