    Buying and ownership of AR-15

I don't think it's doom and gloom at all, just scenarios. Long way off from happening. But, our right to defend ourselves is getting challenged by the rights of a larger majority of Americans who don't think they should have to worry about defending themselves from firearms. And with each...

Camping Reservation Systems & crazy demand

What kind of camping reservation systems have you experienced in other states? The SD system allows reservations 90 days in advance, but you can book up to 10 days after the first available day. What we're seeing is if you want to go on a weekend, you have to book starting Tuesday night thru...

    Buying and ownership of AR-15

While I agree, I believe that opinion is in the minority if the entire US public was polled. I feel as gun owners, we can't just fall back on the 2nd amendment discussion, or the self defense discussion. It just doesn't resonate with the non-gun supporting public. Perception is reality, and...

    Buying and ownership of AR-15

I don't see a plausible way from them to take them. But, given the fact that a large percentage of Americans have zero connections to guns and all they see is bad media on AR's, I think you may be surprised at the support to ban/quit making them. We are a small group anymore, one that...

    New Walleye record 16.39lbs

I fish the very same reservoirs those gizzard shad came from in W SD, along with spending a fair bit of time on Oahe, Sharpe, and FC. I don't think there is any question that shad have improved the Oahe fishery overall. The smelt have never totally bounced back from the flood and shad have...

    South Dakota Atty General

I have significant questions about it all. The flashlight that was still on the next day and was said to be VERY bright. Maybe it just fell perfectly to be unseen? The impact pattern, stuff found in the car. Just doesn't add up. But, that said, think about the odds here. A guy driving at...

West End of Sak in June?

Thanks for the insight. Wind certainly looks like it could be a pain there, not many places to hide or deal with it. But wind can get you anywhere I guess! Appreciate it!

West End of Sak in June?

I've never fished the far west end of Sakakawea at all. Planning out summer adventures and are looking at fishing in the Tobacco Gardens to White Earth areas. Main thing I'm curious about is water clarity as it looks like inflows can make things pretty muddy. What should expectations be in...

The miracle on ice happened 41 yrs ago today(2-22-80)

I ice fished with him once. Super nice guy as you say. Pretty good stories too, which I could tell he was tired of telling. Pretty cool to be the one to score that goal!

    Clam Sled Runners

Your setup is sweet for sure with a shack like that. I'm afraid the Smitty I am going to build won't be quite as nimble once the weight of the entire families gear gets put on there LOL! But regardless they make a barge into darn near an airplane, way easier to pull!

    Clam Sled Runners

I got UHMW plastics from an online source. 3" strips I think. Drilled them and then countersunk the holes so my screws would be under the runner surface. They went on easy and are crazy durable. I have no issue pulling my sled across nearly anything. One time got stuck in a bad spot and had...

    Possible rolling blackouts

As more of more and this comes out, it is amazing that anywhere in the USA could really have this happen. The regional Texas special power grid is an utter failure. They had no ability to get help from other grids due to their Texas is center of the world approach. Both renewables and...

More wasted tax dollars by the G&F

I agree fully with Allen, if they can transfer this to invasive species it would be very worthwhile.

    Possible rolling blackouts

Doing my morning reading, saw this. Sounds like their gas plants have caused as much issue as anything. Non winter ready facilities in all power generation types it looks like, absolutely incredible. Even more so for people who live in the cold all the time...

    Possible rolling blackouts

It is surely a bad sign for renewables.....no matter how poorly they are prepared for cold weather in Texas. I'd argue a bigger issue is our piss poor electrical grid. We don't have the capability to get power where we need it, when we need it, in cases when SHTF. Instead of the New Green...

    Frosty Attic

Agree, more insulation probably solves your issue. But venting is a year round deal and it will surely help the problem as well, albeit a bigger project to tackle. With better ventilation your attic is cooler in the summer too and it makes your shingles last longer as well. No cooking from below!

    Milwaukee or Makita?

The Makita tools are really, really good. I used them extensively in construction as well and have been nothing but happy. That said, about 3 years ago I started using Milwaukee. They are every bit as good if not maybe a bit better. More refined it how I would put it. I don't think you...

    Arrow Building

And it does work. Seems counter intuitive for sure, but that is the case with many bow tuning adjustments it seems! Good luck with the arrow building! I could never get fletchings to stay stuck on any Gold Tip shafts I had. Finally just gave up and buy factory anymore. But you sure can tune...

    New merc engine

Funny how my lottery win fantasies change with technology. Now a nice 30' offshore boat with a 600 to use on Sak and Oahe sounds like a heck of a plan. Wait, gotta buy a ticket first?!?
