Porcupines love salt. Soak a rag in a strong saltwater mixture and nail it to a tree. He will come out to check it out, might be at night though.

    live trapping fox?

No wild canine is easy to catch in a cage trap, though it can be done. You don't have to worry about any size foothold breaking a leg when it closes, broken legs come from poor swiveling of the trap. A simple dirt hole with a trap bedded a few inches in front will do it for fox. Personally I...

    A "How To" Building Snares

Wrkn2hunt, I will find his number when I get home. Your best move might be to meet him in person, he can help to answer questions and explain things. I'm pretty sure he said he was gonna be at the ND fur takers rondy at the fairgrounds in Carrington August 22nd and the NDFHTA rondy at the New...

    A "How To" Building Snares

Wrkn2hunt, everything but the cable for the snares can be ordered from the snare shop. The 3/32 7x7 cable for the extensions can be ordered from them to. The 5/64" 1x19 I order from Newt at snareone.com. However if you are undecided or just want to try it out to see how it goes, I would just...

It might, I imagine the prices for carcass coyotes is gonna be down quite a bit next year. I had my fingers crossed the prices would be as high as the last sale, but I figured those prices couldn't hold forever. - - - Updated - - - These prices won't slow me down a bit though. I guess I will...

NAFA SALE!!! Time to make some money!!!............maybe.

You're making me blush Kirk. I bumbled through a lot of mistakes when I first started too, and coyotes can still make a person look like a fool. But that's part of the fun. I have no doubt you will like those snares, and hopefully you won't have to kiss as many of them next year. I have the...

NAFA SALE!!! Time to make some money!!!............maybe.

Ha-ha, no kidding KDM, once it's in your blood there is no getting it out. For stretchers I've really come to like the Top Lots, I picked some more up when I was in Sturgis to avoid the damn shipping costs. Depending on what you're looking to build for snares, I have a component list on my...

NAFA SALE!!! Time to make some money!!!............maybe.

Sometimes them blues sell really well, had one with good color bring 88 at the Jan auction. I think they try to be conservative with their estimations. I had 2 they estimated at 120 last sale and they sold for 156 each. Let's hope the same happens this auction.

NAFA SALE!!! Time to make some money!!!............maybe.

I first noticed it on the March sale, I think they just started doing that. It's pretty cool though, and last sale my coyotes sold for higher than their estimates.

    A "How To" Building Snares

I forgot to mention before but every one of these snares gets attached to an 8' extension. In order for a dispatch spring to be effective, the coyote needs to hit the end of the snare hard to compress the spring. The extra length of the extension allows them to get a good run. Now for the...
